I have not yet had a chance to shoot this revolver, but having a lot of experience with Uberti and Pietta revolvers I think this is a wonderful revolver NOW THAT I FIXED IT.
When I received this revolver, I found that it would fail to lock completely back about every 5th or 6th time I cocked it. When this happened, I found that the trigger would engage the hammer only if I pushed the trigger forward while holding the hammer back. I was puzzled by this, so I removed the grip and then the trigger guard to expose the trigger/bolt spring. This semi-custom gun comes with a highly reliable Wolff wire trigger/bolt spring rather than the original flat spring that breaks so often. I was appalled to see that the trigger leg of the spring was bent inward so that it barely contacted the ledge on the trigger and every now and then would it slip off of the trigger creating the condition I described.
I have several Wolff trigger/bolt springs in my toolbox and rather than re-bend an already bent and somewhat mangled spring, I simply replaced it and bent the hook on the end to ensure full engagement on the trigger ledge. Problem solved. I've since cocked it 200 times without fail and the release is clean and (not excessively) light.
For me, this was a relatively easy fix, but what about the buyer who's never worked on these revolvers? Does that buyer have to send it back to Uberti and wait for weeks to get a ten-minute repair accomplished? Uberti really needs to take a hard look at whoever is assembling these otherwise wonderful revolvers. Were it not for this, I would not hesitate give this revolver a full five stars.
p.s. I have a picture of the bent spring before I removed it if Bud's want to contact me for it.
The Uberti El Patron competition model arrived at my FFL in perfect condition. With perfect bluing, perfectly checkered grips, and beautiful case coloring. The action was really smooth and had roughly a 3 pound trigger pull. It shoots poa at 25 yards with standard 158 grain magnum loads. I much prefer this gun to my first Uberti (nickeled .45 LC), and can see this one getting more action. Based on this gun, and my previous Uberti. I would not hesitate to buy more.

A:yes it is safe but will require a good cylinder cleaning after shooting the shorter 38 special due to the build up of a carbon ring making the longer 357 ammo hard to load. a good cleaning fixes this issueSee 4 more answers | -

A:since they changed the cattleman series to the floating firing pin it only has 3 clicks but is now safe to carry with all six rounds loadedSee 1 more answer | -
