Description

The bronze frame and the low power of the original .44 Henry rimfire cartridge limited the 1866 rifle\'s versatility. In 1873, continuing the process of improving the lever action design, Winchester introduced a new steel-framed rifle firing the more potent .44/40 center fire cartridge. The Model 1873 firmly established the lever action as an American standard-the weapon that truly "Won the West." Uberti offers several variances: the Carbine with 19" barrel; the 20" barrel Short Rifle; the Sporting Rifle with 24-1/4" barrel (specify round or half-octagon); and the Special Sporting Rifle, with select walnut pistol-grip stock. Available in .357, .44/40 and .45 Colt.

This rifle was a bit of a splurge for me. I have been interested in getting a lever action for years, but only started to seriously look in the last few months. After doing my homework I finally settled on this beautiful firearm. The fit and finish is fantastic, and it is a beauty to hold. I was lucky enough to make it out to the range a week or so after purchasing, and I am really pleased with how it shoots. Smooth action with very little felt recoil, 10+1 .45 Colt allows for enough firepower. The .45 Colt is a pretty easy round to get right now in my area, even if its slightly pricey, and I was getting good groups at 50 meters right out of the box. I have yet to take it out to a 100 or 200 meter range, but am excited to do so. I got some interested looks both when I picked it up at my FFL and at the range, it definitely catches the eye!

Uberti always makes great products and this rifle is awesome. A match to my Uberti peacemaker pistol. Perfect for SASS and Wildbunch matches. You can’t go wrong with this rifle.

This is my second Uberti rifle and this one is vary nice butter smooth action extremely accurate rifle the color case Harding is not good like at all vary poor that is my only complaint but the rifles fit and finish is vary good and hits wear I aim consistently overall I am vary happy with the rifle dont expect really nice case color at this price point I guess

Absolutely amazing rifle! This rifle is flawless! Smooth as butter action. From the wood grain, color case hardening, and just the balance makes it worth every penny. Almost bought a Winchester but after handling one and then handling the Uberti I made my mind up. You won't regret buying one of these works of art! Oh and shoots just as good as it looks!

This is an absolutely beautiful rifle. The fit and finish is better than all other guns in my collection. Flawless finish on excellent wood, case color hardening ads a special touch of class and the bluing is nice as well. Excellent service from Bud's.

I’ve wanted one of these rifles for quite sometime when I opened the box it looked amazing but then I worked the lever and boy was I disappointed it was not what I expected for the price tag the lever it’s self had quite a bit of play in it much more than I care for for the price I should have just bought a Henry or even a Winchester reproduction.
