Second trip today to the range with the Standard Manufacturing Blued 1911 and now have 450 rounds through it. First trip was half ball and half hollow point ammo, 220 rounds. I had a few, maybe 5 failure to feed when I tried 8 round mags. Today it shot everything perfectly including hollow points and 8 round mags. I have had maybe 60 1911 style pistols since 2009, mid and high end, this one is the tightest fitted one that I have ever owned. Deffinetly no rattles, shakes, or wiggles anywhere. When I took it down before I ever shot it the first time it was a beast that fought being taken apart. After the first outing the second time was a little easier but still very tight fitting. I don't know what pound the original recoil spring is but I replaced it with an 18.5# Wilson Combat before the range visit today. The slide is still VERY hard to rack but it may have contribited to the perfect function today. Both mags that came with it seem a bit cheap and unfinished much like old military mags but niether has been a problem nor were the Dan Wessons, Kimbers or Wilson mags, even the 8 round. Even though it was covered in soot after shooting today it wiped down to that beautiful blue very easily. This is definetly a keeper and I could not be happier with it's beauty and oh yeah, it's accurracy! Makes me look better than I am at the range. If you are looking for a really well made 1911 at a decent price point this may be it.

This 1911 has the most beautiful polished and blued finish of any firearm of any type I've owned. It also functions perfectly with the (2) supplied mags. Oddly though it suffers a FTE jam that's difficult to clear when I use 8 round mags (WC), always on the second to last round. It also has the heaviest rate recoil spring, by far, I've ever seen in a 1911. And I've owned a bunch. I'm going to try a lighter spring and see if that helps with the FTE jams. If I am able, I will provide an update after the spring change.

Great gun!!! I took it out and shot a Wild Bunch match the weekend after I got it. All I did was lubricated and it ran flawlessly. It was more accurate than I was, has a terrific trigger and the finish is beautiful. It was the talk of the range. Great service and quick delivery from Buds.

These are works of art. According to Standard, it takes 20 hours of polishing to attain the deep blue mirror finish (which almost looks black). The fit and finish is top notch and is well worth the price. These guns remind me of old school Colts from the 1920s and 1930s when Colt was making the finest guns to come from its factory. Thank you Standard for producing these pistols. That being said, I had a few cosmetic issues with my pistol when it arrived and had to send it back to the factory. The return process was very easy and I had the gun back in my hands in 10 days. Kudos to the Customer Service department! As others have mentioned, the two magazines are a bit crude for such a nice pistol. I'm assuming they are made in house and function fine. However, the painted finish wears off after a few times in and out of the gun and the magazines don't eject very smoothly. Standard, please provide proper magazines for these beautiful guns.

First. The photo here is not correct. it’s a really nice 1911. The main problem I have with it is, it’s almost to pretty and I would hate to damage it’s finish lol. Hey, standard manufacturing, can you make a more... utilitarian finished model to? Perhaps in the sub 1000 cost range? Finish on the magazines is kinda rough, but they do the job, ordered a few more std factory mags to. I like 7 round mags, not much luck with 8 rounders.

Ok, when I bought this gun I was looking for a real good quality shooter. When I received it I was disappointed because the finish is shiny and when I saw shiny, I mean it’s like glass. However, it has really grown on me. It is a beautiful firearm which I have every intention to keep. That being said this one might be a safe queen because it really is a high quality beauty. Just beware if you are looking for a plain but high quality 1911. This one is a collector piece and might not be what you are looking for.

Wow, what a beauty, if it shoots at all like my other two case hardened engraved models it may turn out to be my favorite, stunning finish, reminds me of the blued Pythons of the 60's.

Buds Gun Shop is great. Ordered gun on Saturday. Delivered to FFL on Tuesday. Picked up on Wednesday. This pistol is very tight and solid. The depth of the color is remarkable. We will see how it shoots at the next range trip.

Excellent 1911. The polishing and deep blue of the slide and frame flats is the reason I wanted the gun. This gun brings back memories of blued guns of years ago. Even the grip screw slots are lined up in the same direction. The slide is brand marked in a very tasteful way-----No crap about reading the manual before use or gun will fire without the magazine. I am very happy with Standard Mfg and Bud's gun shop. Haven't shot it yet,but I'am sure it will go bang!
