What can I say, this pistol rocks! I've had many average, regular guns and had some very nice ones, too. You feel and see the difference in the very nice ones. Yes, it's a high price and if you took another regular pistol and order some aftermarket high-end parts, you may get similar accuracy with a match barrel from Volquartsen and other quality makers. You can also add a match-grade trigger to put in it too. Will it be as awesome as the complete gun? No, not to me.
I have a Performance Victory and I put a Tandemkross trigger and hammer in it. I also had to correct a few things on it. It has the Volquartsen barrel. Now it's a very nice gun with the upgraded trigger. Very accurate too. Here's what I don't like about it though. You have the rail that goes into the bracket in the rear to secure it and a screw at the front of the rail. So if that screw works loose with a scope on top, your accuracy is gone. So you can't mount a scope that covers that screw because it needs to be checked. Then you have a screw that holds the barrel to the upper slide. If that comes loose your accuracy is gone. Then you have the screw that holds the upper in place. If that screw comes loose there goes your accuracy. I know this because I experienced all of them. You really need to be checking those screws. If all that is done, the gun is rather nice. Good gun for the money and upgrade.
Now, if you want a better gun, love quality, want something that you don't have to screw with to get to work very nicely, want a gun you don't have to be paranoid about screws working loose, want a gun that is very well thought out, will outlast you, look awesome, feels awesome to just hold, dry-fire with caps, a breeze to clean, and just is a pleasure to shoot, just spend the extra and get the complete Volquartsen. Do you "need" it? No. As mentioned, you can go a cheaper route. Do you need it if you want the satisfaction as I mentioned? Yes, if you're a person like me who could justify spending the extra money. I enjoy shooting at 25 yards and 50. When you go beyond 25 yards, the quality of the gun really starts to show.
