COLT LW COMM 45AP Pistol B GUNSITE - 4.25" Barrel, 8+1 Rounds

This was a dissappointment. Anodizing has bubbled on the feed ramps causing it to flake off, leaving bare aluminum. Bolt over base misfeeds, nose-dives. Really unfortunate.
I’ll put in the work with EGW parts, send off for some reliability work because I really like it despite it functioning like absolute garbage. Not sending back to colt, they clearly thought it was okay to begin with. 500 rounds through at this point, no signs of improvement. I saved my money for a Colt...

The Colt Gunsite Pistol LW Commander is a very nice package. The specifications are everything I wanted in a carry Commander. The Novak sights are tritium with white surround front and wide notch black rear. It has a steel mainspring housing and a Wilson bulletproof thumb safety and slide lock. It has a short trigger and serrated front strap. The frame finish is good, deep flat black in sunlight but it does have a purple-ish tint indoors with certain light. The only change I made is to standard width grips by replacing the slim grip bushings, grips and screws to standard. The original slim bushings are not staked in place but they do use a liquid thread locker so appropriate care must be taken. This is an exceptional value for a Colt Custom Shop assembled pistol with a great spec list and well fitted parts.

This pistol arrived quickly despite COVID-19 constraints. Good job Bud’s. Pistols fit and finish are good. This is a good looking Colt. I’ve only fired it once, but it performed well. I thought the trigger pull was a little much for this pricey a pistol. The only negative thing so far is it didn’t feed Lawman TMC training ammunition. For this price, it should.
