Rating: 4 of 5 Stars!
TL:DR - This is an excellent and reliable rimfire pistol aside from the stock trigger. The trigger needs an upgrade or possibly the removal of the magazine disconnector to remove the creep and mushy feel.
Here's the long version:
I bought this pistol with a plan to upgrade some parts but this review is on this pistol in stock form.
First off, this pistol lives up to its name! It is extremely light weight to the point that it takes some getting used to. However, once you get accustomed to the weight it handles very quickly and seems more than capable of delivering very good accuracy for quick tactical style shooting. I did not do any formal accuracy testing but Remington Golden Bullet value pack ammo provided acceptable accuracy. I put about 150 rounds through the pistol on the first outing after an initial cleaning. It ran flawlessly with no FTF, FTE, light strikes, or any other malfunctions. I fed it copper washed ammo as I have had better luck with that running reliably in Ruger Mk series pistols than lead bullets with a wax lubricant. While I have never had any issues reassembling my Ruger Mk II pistol, the one button take down is a welcome feature on the Mk IV series models. The anodized finish on the receiver is flawless but it is a little darker green than it appears in the photos.
The only real flaw with this pistol that I feel keeps it from earning a five star rating is the trigger. While I didn't expect perfection, it had a significant amount of creep and mushiness before the break. I have heard the magazine disconnect is partially responsible for this but cannot confirm. The other big disappointment in the trigger is the reset. It feels a mile long and I found myself frequently short stroking the trigger when trying to shoot quick strings. Maybe Glock guys wouldn't have this issue but I am used to single action triggers and this proved to be an issue for me.
After shooting the pistol in stock form I have since installed a TandemKross Victory trigger along with a Volquartsen accurizing kit that deleted the magazine disconnect at the same time. While I haven't shot it, the trigger is now exceptional and the upgrade was worth every penny. I highly recommend it.
Overall I am happy with the purchase and it will be a great training tool and plinker.
