If this is not classed as a factory new gun like the one that have just sat in storage for decades then what kind and how much use have these seen in their life? Have they been fired before? is the rifling worn?

They've almost certainly been fired before being rated "Excellent" would mean they were in 90% or better condition, these are rated very good, 70% or more blued finish on barrel, Intact scabbard with Iron fittings. These will be in Surplus Very Good to they Will show some signs of use, as these rifles are a minimum of 75 years old. But they will all be fully functional, they will also be caked in Cosmoline, which protects them well but can be a chore to remove.

I used to have an m44 with a built on bayonet but I am aware 91/30s have a mounted bayonet so I was curious if this one will accept mounted bayonets, and if so do I need a specific kind? I ask because I heard finnish mosin bayonets wont fit others, not sure though.

Will this come with cracked stock? Not sure if that is in the very good condition requirement.

No it should not have a cracked stock. If it did I would refuse to accept it at the FFL and send it back for a replacement here is the century arms VG condition details Very Good 50-80% of blue remaining, minor dings in wood from handling. Bores clean without pitting. Complete and in working condition.

Kowin, very good will not have wood cracks. Just be sure and inspect the rifle at your local FFL if you are not an Curios and Relics License holder and simply refuse transfer if anything is amiss. Your FFL Dealer will notify Buds to arrange pickup and once received back, you will have an option of replacement or refund. Cheers and stay safe!

Hi, No, there should not be a crack in the "Very Good" condition. Crack is expected for "Fair Condition." Grade of wood is averaging about 84 to 86 percent. Expect scratch and sign of use. If you see crack, report it to Buds. I hope this helps.

Garret, no Sir. A Very Good rating at Buds is only slightly less in condition compared to Excellent condition. Generally less that 10% lower condition than Excellent.

Great gun, cleaned up nicely. I have a few of these now. Great gun out to 1200 meters, almost 3/4 of a mile. Can't beat that from a gun that has been built since the very late 1800's with no changes. Can't beat it for what it is.

Buds was fast and great as always to order from. Stripped the rifle down and cleaned then oiled it and put 20 rds through it of tula, red army standard, and brown bear. No issues at all it's a great rifle thanks buds!

It was as said in very good condition. Strong rifling, Ammo easy to find. Great for those occasional Coyotes crossing the pasture.

4.9 out of 5 stars! I was extremely pleased with this rifle when I received it. Despite their advisement of a shipping delay it still arrived on time. The packaging was good with the exception of the bold handle which broke through the side of the cardboard but I wasn't too concerned about that since it's solid steel anyway and wasn't scratched. Of course, everything in the box was covered in cosmoline. The rifle itself was in truly amazing condition given its age. The one I received was originally manufactured in 1922 and showed only small signs of use/handling. As advertised, all the serial numbers matched with the exception of the bayonet but that's understandable given the bayonets are more rare than the rifle it fits on. I feel that just saying that it comes with accessories is too vague so what it comes with is: one original issue bayonet (different serial number), one original issue cleaning kit, one original issue oil bottle, and one original issue ammo belt pouch. It does not come with the sling or any ammo clips, but both are easy to find online in both original issue and aftermarket reproductions.
I definitely recommend this to collectors, hobbyists, and hunters alike. It's a great piece of history to add to any collection and also a rifle you can have fun with without breaking the bank given it's relatively inexpensive ammo. If you're like me and not a purist, there're plenty of aftermarket upgrades you can make this this to make it more fun and bring it into the 21st century. I took my review down to 4.9 out of 5 since the one I received was missing the bore brush from the cleaning kit.

Just saw the rifle today for the first time and must say I am very pleased. Have not yet had the chance to shoot it (will do later this year) but the condition is even better than described. Excellent and fast service as well. Please customer and will consider Buds for future purchases!

Great looking Hex receiver mosin nagant! All matching number and lots of cosmoline. This is the best Mosin Nagant I've seen in years!! I also picked up a round receiver from buds last month. It was also a very nice rifle! Only negative is that it doesn't come with a sling but slings are easy to get online.
