The PPS43 (Pistolet-Pulemet Sudaeva, model of 1943 = Sudaev submachine gun) was born as an answer for the need of a weapon that would be more compact and mobile than the PPSh-41, which was in use then by the Soviet Army. The PPSh-41 was somewhat too long to be used by tank crews, mobile recon groups and paratroopers. In late 1941, the Red Army issued a request for a new, more compact SMG. Designer Sudaev initially designed his new SMG in 1942 and it was adopted under the designation of PPS42. Next year he refined the design and this final model was designated as PPS43. This SMG was manufactured in significant numbers, with nearly 2 million PPS43 weapons manufactured between 1943 and 1946. The PPS43 is sometimes referred to as the best SMG of World War II. After WWII, it was widely exported to pro-Soviet regimes around the world and widely copied.

I have had a pps43c, chambered in 7.62x39 and have wanted another one chambered in 9mm for quite some time now. Finally I found one at Bud's for a great price with free shipping and 2 mags. The finish on this new gun looks better than the original one I bought around 10 years ago. I have purchased two parts kits and plan to submit a form to the FAA so I can get a 200 tax stamp, which will allow me to open the stocks and have two quality carbines.

if I could give negative stars I would gun simply dose not fire and if by chance it dose it jams up … it is poorly machined and just slapped together … Do not buy this gun it is trash !!!!!

Super fun to shoot. Looks cool, and accurate at 25 yds.I did have some issues with magazine feeding. The issue is definitely magazine related . Great job and thanks to Bud's, my FFL had it before I got the ship notice, ordered it and had hit in my hand 4 days later including a weekend.

It's just a cool firearm to have around and even more fun to shoot. That long action really makes you feel the function of the firearm. 100% would recommend.

I bought this as a range toy. I've had it a few weeks and I took it to the range. It fired without issues, firing various bullet weights and reloads. I have altered a few original mags to work with the 9mm ejector/recoil rod. It's real simple to do it with a dremel tool. Overall I fired about 200 rounds. Only one failure to fire. (no primer in one of my reloads) The metal barrel jacket started to get hot. This could be an issue if you run a few mags out of it. Overall I give it a 5 star rating. Spare mags are dirt cheap and 9mm ammo is available. It's a neat piece that I may SBR in the future. Buds shipped quickly and the service was great.

I bought this for fun - With no disappointment.
It's a blast to shoot and everyone that sees it has to look at it - wants to fire it and ask a thousand questions about it.
If you want something unusual that draws attention this is the item.
It's of high quality and great craftsmanship.
I can see many years of fun with this weapon.
Not to mention for home defense a weapon at your fingertips with 35 rounds of 9mm is great peace of mind
The ad says it holds 30 but when loading it - I was pleased to discover it held 35 rounds of 9mm
Out of the box it ran perfect and I would definitely recommend it to anyone.
And it definitely has great potential of paying the fee and having it converted to a short-barreled rifle.
