Fantastic little rifle. Excellent for backpacking deep in the woods if you aren’t shooting deer past 250 yards as it is an AK round.

Very Good product.

It is just what i need here in East Tx. On a small ranch it works good against varmints snakes coon and deer.

Best Regards:

I have only just shot it one time with Tul Ammo 124 grain and PPU 123 Grain. It as consistently group about 1.5\" groups at 50 yards. I was using a 4 power scope. I would have been satisfied with 3/4\" groups. It is just not accurate. I intend to shoot some other brands of ammo with different weight bullets. But as of now it seems pretty depressing.

The stock is about what you would expect from a polymer stock. The finish on the rifle is OK but there is one are near the ejection port that seems like it is pretty thin. instead of black it looks grey. Like the metal is shining up through the black finish.

The trigger is very good.

Also it may just be an optical illusion but the rail on top of the receiver looks like it is canted. This does not really matter since I have a scope and I can just rotate it until the reticle is right.

The bolt is also really not smooth. I lubed it up and it just hangs up all the time and does not run smoothly.

I will take it out again with some new ammo. Lets hope for the best.

I like this little rifle and this particular caliber for use in the 125 yard and under realm.
The trigger is entirely acceptable and I doubt there’s a need to tweak it since it’s not meant for the target range.
With the 10 rounds I’ve fired so far, the factory mag seem balky with the first or second shot. I haven’t installed the AI mag adapter because of their expense. Hopefully I’ll find extra Ruger mags locally.
The barrel is relatively stout for a rifle of this type but that’s minor.
The overall fit and finish is decent for this price range.
Buds was great as per usual

Quality of rifle is great for the price, wish it came with some sort of sights. Bolt action is decent. Not as smooth as hoped but again for the cost really good.

I’m going to try not to sound like a huge Ruger fan-boy, but this is the sixth ruger rifle I own.

I was looking for a lightweight deer rifle for the puny white-tails we have in this part of New York State. I was shopping for a 30-30, but I found a Ruger American Ranch in 350 Legend. I wasn’t interested in the new caliber, but was loving everything else about the rifle. That brought me to Bud’s looking at the 7.62x39.

I have to say, I’m very pleased with the rifle. I bought a Ruger American in 308 when they were first released. This is a much refined version of the American. Out-of-the box it groups just as well as the 308 after months of break-in. I tested a variety of ammo of differing grades and it all functions splendidly.

I’ve only shot it at 100 yards. I’m eager for the local outdoor range to open to stretch its legs.

Surprising low recoil. Minute of angle at 100 yards. Shoots more accurate than ANY AK47 I EVER OWNED......EVER. You won’t be disappointed

I have owned quite a few center fire rifles over the years, of all action types. This 7.62 soviet bolt action has to be one of the funnest and handiest rifles made. I like to carry it on hikes. It works very well on whitetails using Hornady ammo. Dont let that short barrel fool you, it has ample power. I get 1 inch 100 yard groups with Hornady and 2 inch groups with RedArmyStandard plinking ammo. Very good rifle, functions flawlessly and has an excellent trigger. Very glad I made the purchase.

Rifle is bit rough in the action when you first get it. Some polishing compound on the bolt did get things much smoother. The trigger was reasonable and will not require any modifications. Topped one of these units with a 2x7 Leupold scope and was amazed with the results. Using handloads and H322 powder 1" groups at 100 yards were achieved! This is a nifty little rifle and can't wait to try it on hogs in Texas. I am adding a muzzle break (the rifle recoils very little already) which I am told will allow me to see my hits clearly with even less recoil. Good little rifle at a decent price.

The Ruger 762x39 American is a great value for the money and when you get the AR15 Magwell Change ($25,00) from Ruger directly-(self install it) it is Excellent. While I initially had a "glitch" with the Order (I ordered another Rifle which was "out of stock") Buds straightend it out fairly and quickly almost immediately-and delivery was fast. Ive been buying from Buds for a few years (the prices are always about the best around- too close to quibble about) and they have always performed and this time-they even exceeded my own expectations-Thanks Buds-
