I love Mossberg 590’s and this is my favorite version (well, after switching out to Magpul MOE forend and SGA stock). This is the newer 6 shot mag tube (thus total 7 shot). The older version had a 5 shot mag tube with a 1 Choate extension on it. This newer version is simpler and cleaner looking. My specific example, however, must have been a Monday morning or Friday evening build. It’s rough. The action is super stiff (will loosen over time/rounds), the end of my mag tube was buggered up (fixed with gentle squeeze of pliers), the mag well opening was chipped (cleaned up with Aluma-black) and the matte bluing is super dull and chalky. But it works, and it prettied up nice. 5 stars for fantastic design/style/function. -1 star for the minor cosmetic blems..

very nice shotgun and perfect for its intended use. Quality build, great feel and gives me confidence that I own a well made and operating weapon. Bids made it easy and the prices make it worthwhile !! I’ll be a customer again soon !!

Good Shotgun. I took it to the range… put about 60 rounds through it. It kicks like a mule. I replaced the original buttstock with a Tactaload Butt stock and added a Tacstar side rail.

Mossberg makes good shotguns! Maverick 88, 500, or 590 they are all really good. Look for the combo that gives you two barrels the 18" and 24 or28". Get more for your money. They are solid shot guns. Buds was awesome!

My Mossberg 590 slide action .12 gauge shotgun I purchased from Buds is a fine, smooth cycling pump gun. Delivery to my FFL was quick and timely. As a longtime, 45 years+, Remington 870 fan, I was impressed with Mossbergs' winning the U.S. military contract for an issue combat shotgun. The 590-A1. Mine is just the 590 with a bead sight and a factory six round tube magazine. I upgraded mine with a Mag Pul stock/forend and a hi vis orange tall tang safety. Only slight drawback to this manufacturers' model is the separate pieces, like the action bars that have to be dealt with during disassembly/reassembly. A bit more tedious to hold into place during reassembly for a guy spoiled by Remingtons' one piece foreend, twin action bars. Only a concern to maintenance minded shooters, which I realize not everyone is.
