This is very comparable to my Ruger American. The weight, feel and look are almost the same. The biggest difference in the Mauser is the fit. The bolt is large and tight. The barrel, safety, trigger so on. If you pick it up and shake it it does not rattle or make a sound at all. My Ruger American would. That being said, scientifically I am told Mauser is more accurate- but in a real hunting situation versus shooting a coin, either rifle is equal for hunting. If you can afford the Mauser I would get it. If not I was also really impressed with the Ruger American I bought.
