I do like FN products. So, that said, this "compact" has a 17 round capacity one in the pipe. (extended mag included).
Ok, so 400 rounds down range thus far and a couple of things. For comparison purposes I used the Sig P365 Both are about the same size and both are 9's.
The trigger on the FN is a little crisper than the Sig. BUT, the first 250 rounds found me not liking the FN's sere reset much. I had a few ( about 6) FTF and found the cause was the sere reset. Your finger must travel the length of the trigger range or it will not fire the next round. Maybe its a striker issue but the more I fired it, the less frequently this occurred.
The last 2 full mags fired flawlessly. I actually prefer the smaller mag in my hand and for EDC. The extended mag is a bit to large and I find the 12 round mag enough.
The P365's trigger is not as crisp but I never encountered the sere issue. The FN is a bit longer in the slide, about an inch but frames are very comparable in size.
All in all, my P365 will continue to be my EDC but I'll keep taking the FN9C to the range to build my confidence in it.

The FNS 9C has replaced my Taurus for EDC. Packaging is first rate in with the zip case provided. The 12 round, pinkie extension and 17 round mag (with sleeve extension) are included. I also purchased a 12 round flush bottom mag. The pricing from Bud's was excellent, but delivery did take some extra time, unfortunately due to using an ACH payment. But, that was a reasonable trade off for the outstanding cash price offered. Did some research prior to purchase and all reviews were favorable, with the exception of the mag release (I've since learned to efficiently use the right release instead of the thumb). It's been out to the range several times and I've put about 500 rounds through it. Zero issues and smooth shooting. The take down lever was very stiff at the beginning, but has become easier to use after each cleaning. I've definitely become an FN fan and look forward to future purchases. Another thing, this particular combination of black slide and FDE grip is really aesthetically pleasing.

A:David - To me, the capacity of this pistol is a big positive, coupled with the relatively small size, which makes it a very good choice for concealed carry, yet is big enough to shoot at the range without 'punishing' your hand. The fact it is an "FN" is also a positive, IMO. Negatives would be ... well, actually, if you plan on using it for defensive purposes .. it is just a pretty darn good all-around choice. It fits right into that 'approaching perfection' category for all-around use.See 2 more answers | -
