Nice looking firearm. A lot bigger than expected and very heavy! Haven’t shot it yet still awaiting ammo from buds.

I have owned this ugly little pistol for 4 years now and it has won my trust as a functional and trust worthy firearm! Heavy with a so-so trigger it eats every type of ammo I have fed it so far! Hard to rack the slide somewhat and modest accuracy at best, it works all the time.

Very heavy piece. Trigger feels light. Little rattle by the handle area but could be the polymer grip. For the price feels like a solid deal. Will know more once we do some practice shots! Overall content for the price point.

Great gun. For the price point even greater service from Buds.

Will not ship to Sensibly Armed, though. Fifty dollars for a so-called

Delivery charge

Now I\'ve heard plenty of bad and pretty bias negative feedback about hi point. But as a newbie I shot several rounds with this gun and no malfunction whatsoever. In my opinion it shot very well and I liked the little kickback, not too much for a starter btw. Of course it isn\'t that pretty and the design is mediocre, plus it feels loose as if the parts could use a tightening. But, for the price and the purpose I would definitely recommend this hi point.

Great for home protection. Very powerful but a little heavy for ccw.

Not very easy to strip down this gun. It\'s not like other 9mm striker fire handguns and I don\'t recommend cleaning this gun beyond the bore and whatever action parts you can access from the ejection port.

Stan any of the standard "Full MJacket" ammunition will work for practice but I highly recommend : https://www.budsgunshop.com/catalog/product_info.php/cPath/656_2081_10000716/products_id/12846/Speer%20380%20ACP%2095%20Grain%20Full%20Metal%20Jacket/. For "Self Defense" I highly recommend the Hornady Critical Defense : https://www.budsgunshop.com/catalog/product_info.php/cPath/656_2081_10000716/products_id/56780/Hornady%20380%20Auto%20Critical%20Defense%2090%20Grain%20Critical%20Defense/

I would want to know much more before I attempted to answer you. bare bones basics dictates since your asking such a question at all that both you and your daughter are inexperienced. there is a great deal for you to learn as with your daughter. were I in your shoes I would opt for a revolver in 38 caliber and better still the 38 special. the 38 is a proven defender spanning many years now. REMEMBER that barrel length matters as bullets are designed to be fired from ''x'' barrel lengths in order to achieve the desired velocity. snub nose revolvers are an inside your home defender most likely. I would prefer a minimum barrel length of 3 inches for your daughter and actually (myself) I will want 4 inch barrels minimum. practice is key but so is her mind set!! she needs to understand seconds count and she needs to KNOW she will fire to kill if a situation warrants. most ladies starting out find this sporting, momentarily, and do not intend to shoot anyone - ever - let alone kill someone. you need to roll up your sleeves and dive into many subjects before even you buy yourself a gun.
