Very nice action! I bought this to build a new benchrest rifle for 1000 yard competitions. With the help of Brownell's, I trued the action before having a custom barrel installed in 6mmBR Improved. The action has been flawless, although he factory trigger was immediately replaced with a TriggerTech Diamond trigger. The single shot action works well with our competitions that prohibit magazine feeding. Overall, very nice action for a fair price!

Had been looking at the single shot Remington 700 receiver for a couple of months on a number of websites. Bud’s has the best deal I could find. They have always made the process easy and I had the product within several days. Thanks guys!

I have bought 2 of these receivers so far from Bud's. Best price and best service above anybody else. In fact Bud's is the only place I have seen these single shot stainless steel 700's sold. Being a single shot, the receiver is solid on the bottom with no cutout for a magazine, making the receiver stronger with less possibility of any flex. Some people say "buy a custom receiver, it's cheaper than buying a Rem 700 and having a gunsmith true it for accuracy". My gun guru charges $250 to true an action. Plus with the $400 for the cost of this action I'm still around $300-$350 under the cost of a custom action. Both of my actions were installed in tubegun stock assemblies with Krieger and Brux match barrels. One in .308, the other in 6mmBR.
Both are used in FT/R and F Open competition. The US Marines and the US Army uses Remington 700 actions for their 7.62 sniper rifles. If they're good enough for them, they are certainly good enough for me.

This solid bottom single shot receiver is an excellent platform to use for a new build. The quality and machining on the one I received is top notch. Thanks Buds for carrying these at a very good price and being easy to do business with.

I have looked for a reasonably priced 40X or XR100 action, barreled action, or used rifle. But all were too expensive to serve as bases for a new build. This is the ideal starting point. Seems to be very high quality, new 700 in single shot AND stainless. I have the recoil ring/plate, trigger guard, and ADL stock. Now to decide on chambering, contour, and smith for a new barrel. New rifle should be in the price range of a used donor. Very nice.

Was pleasantly surprised to find these single shot actions at Buds. A shooting buddy had told me another vendor had them but it was not the case so I decided to check Buds as I have purchased actions from them before. Sure enough there it was. These are the same actions used in Remington's custom shop to build the 40X/40XB rifles they are just not marked as such. Comes with a jeweled bolt and solid floor receiver with angled slot milled out as a ramp to aid in the loading of rounds into the chamber. Not sure this package came with a recoil lug or not. I have purchased Rem 700 actions in the past that did. I did not go through the box and packing that thoroughly. Usually my rifle smith grinds his own. Also not sure about the trigger as to whether it is any different or better than the current stock 700 trigger (which is terrible by the way). I usually replace with a Jewell. My smith has built several rifles for me based on the Rem 700 action and they are hyper accurate as long as I do my part on the hand loads and trigger pulling. This will be my first single shot/solid bottom receiver build and it will most likely be a 30BR. Another shooting buddy of mine had a 308 FTR gun built on this same exact action and it's a tack driver as well. The Brux barrel and expert smithing might have something to do with it. Very pleased to get this action and Buds was lightning fast getting it shipped and to my LGS in 72hrs.
