Best pistol ever. Easy target hits. Zero malfunctions.

Specific to this gun:
I opted for the 34 for the length. I only do target shooting and the extra length (and therefore mass - not much, but some) help you get back on target faster. It's a good gun. There's only 1 thing I am going to knock it for and that it's way too easy to put the slide on cockeyed (miss the front tabs with the front of the slide). This was new for me, and I had to learn to put it back together upside down to prevent this. This could be a personal issue - your mileage may vary here. I got the MOS spec on the recommendation of my brother in law. He's trying to convert me from iron sights to red dot on pistols. I'm still not sold, but as he pointed out if I changed my mind in the future it would cost me way more to have it milled to MOS spec.
Buying from Bud's:
I am very happy with this purchase. The gun was brand new (first purchase from Bud's - you never know, right?) and shipped plenty fast. I saved quite a bit of money - even with the FFL fees, and will likely buy from Bud's again.

Prefect feeling of trigger pull, much more accurate than G19&17. Love it

Another EXCELLENT product given to consumers from Glock. Performed excellent and the feel of balancing the Gen 5, in my opinion, is better than that of the lesser Gen's.

I bought this particular piece because I can mount a rear optic on it. Typical, reliable Glock. Like the G34 Gen 5 because of that, the long barrel, flared magwell, and crisp trigger. About the only thing I don't like are the stock front and rear iron sights. Getting rid of those for some night sights and rear optic. The G34 has a lot of potential to be a great tactical pistol, not just a comp gun. Backstrap options are good. The divoted pistol grip texture is not gone on the gen 5. I don't know who the genius was that said that.

This is just simply a fun gun to shoot. The Gen 5 trigger is much improved over the Gen 4. What I first noticed was that this pistol did not have a "wall" during the first part of the trigger pull that I was used to feeling in my Gen 4 Glocks. As soon as you remove the slide (field strip) you notice that the firing pin safety (little plunger part underneath the slide) now is wider and has a ramp on it. It used to be cylinder shaped which increased the resistance of the first part of the trigger pull. That is now gone and the Gen 5 had the best Glock "out of the box" trigger I have ever shot. With the long slide, it already has great accuracy. After breaking it in, I added a 1 MOA Trijicon RMR and I can easily punch out 1" targets from 7 yards. I also do NOT miss the finger grooves, so the Gen 5 is a winner in this category too. I was surprised that the Gen 5 does not have the lightning cut to reduce weight (but exposed the barrel) like the Gen 4 had. I read somewhere that Glock addressed the weight/balance issue by material changes and no longer needed the lightning cut. I also imagine not having the cut keeps debris out of the pistol too. The only issue I have with this is that I had a Lone Wolf barrel with some extra porting (where the lightning cut was) and now it will not work with the Gen 5...oh, well. If that is my only complaint, I think I am doing all right.

I have been very pleased with the Glock 34 Gen 5 so far. Being left handed I was glad Glock finally started producing fully ambidextrous guns. Like all new out of the box guns this one took some breaking in. The sights, as with all Glock factory sights, were very low quality and I changed them as soon as I got the gun. The gun started to break in after I put about 500 rounds through it. The trigger measured between 4.5 to 5 lbs average. After taking it apart and polishing it I was able to achieve a 4.1 lb trigger pull as measured with a Lyman Trigger Gauge. I did not find the new Gen 5 barrel to be any more or less accurate then previous generation barrels so I think there was more hype then substance from Glock about its accuracy claims. There is still a lot of slop in this Glock barrel but so far I can live with it until some good aftermarket barrels are produced. I have been shooting this gun in IDPA SSP class competition and it has performed reliably well. As with all Glocks it has a very low failure rate and blows away the competition in the reliability category.
