I would like to know the magazine capacity of the model 512268695 with 2 3/4" shells. Bud's says 4 + 1 in the chamber, but the Winchester.com website says 5 in the magazine and other sellers on-line are indicating 5 + 1 in the chamber. Of course, shell length makes a difference. I am asking about 2 3/4" shells.

Hi Philip, I saw your first question and was trying to answer when it was deleted. Bud's description is in error, as were the other 2 answers. This holds 5 rounds in the magazine, whether 2 3/4" or 3 " shells, plus one in the chamber for a total of 6 rounds. The Winchester web site is correct. Stay safe & have a great day!

I think Randy is correct, it will hold (5) 2 3/4" shells but only (4) 3" shells.

Bought it new, just got it. Cleaned and oiled it twice. The pump slide is very hard to push forward after it has been pulled fully rearward. It feels as if there is something that needs to be overcome. Is this normal or does my shotgun require some attention? I've only shot it once and put 25 rounds through it, but it's hard to believe this will eventually become very smooth as it should be.

Steven, I'd try working the action alot, couple hundred times. Ive had several guns, not just shotguns feel that way and they eventually got better. If not I'd contact Winchester at (800) 945-5237. Hopefully it'll smooth out for you.

Steven, it normally should not have that much resistance. A little arm grease with racking for a while and then applying some dry film or graphite lube to the tube and slide rails should smooth it up quite a bit. Cheers and stay safe!

A great home defense gun. Being a woman of smaller frame, I can't really handle the recoil of a 12 gauge shorter barreled shotgun and even my husband who's 6'4" says this gun has enough recoil even in 20 gauge when loaded with buckshot. Good grouping on the gun. Very well put together. Feeds just fine. Only issue I have with it is the recoil for extended periods of shooting. We know what the spread and grouping of buckshot that this gun shoots, so maybe low recoil birdshot loads for training at the range will get me to practice more on this gun. It's currently my choice of home defense gun. We live in an apartment complex and this suits that purpose just fine. We don't want to run the risk of a 5.56 round going through someone and into the next apartment.

Beautiful shotgun, very nice quality. Soon as I received it, I cleaned and oiled it several times, worked the action, took it to the range for 25 rounds, and then had to send it in to Winchester for service. The action is WAY too tight. Specifically, the pump slide is very hard to push forward after being pulled fully rearward. Seems like it's getting hung up on something in the trigger group. Also the elevator in the loading port gets stuck a little bit. Doesn't seem to be Bud's issue, appears to be a manufacturing thing, which I was why I sent it in. Cost me $40 bucks to mail it. Hopefully doesn't take too long and gets fixed without charging me. I love the shotgun otherwise, but I want this issue fixed! It's brand new. Would give it 5 stars if it worked properly. Might just be the odd one out, no way for me to know.

I received my gun but haven't fired it yet. Knowing its manufacturer and credentials of the XSP, I have great confidence I will be pleased.
More importantly, I think this review should be about the service I received from BUD'S GUN SHOP. With firearm constraints caused by supply chain issues, I expected to have to wait several weeks to get my order. Bud's was in fact, out of stock but I was assured my order would be filled as soon as possible. During my wait, Bud's kept me apprised of my order status.
In approximately one week I received notification I could pick my firearm up at my local firearm destination. This was such a surprise. I will look to Bud's GUN SHOP for any future firearm and ammo needs. I appreciate this superior service.

Okay, it is made in Turkey. But this has been a solid and reliable shotgun with anything I put through it. I have lost count of how many shells this thing has ate. Bird shot, buck shot, slugs - it just keeps going. Well worth the price, I would buy it again in a heartbeat!

I really liked the gun, screw I chokes, super short 18" barrel, offered on 20 ga. The action cycles great. Sling mounts point The only negative is the length to pull. It's to long. So I removed the recoil pad and replaced it with a simple flat butt plate. Problem solved. Im also a custom fabricator..
