• Q: Is this barrel IN .40 S&W and can a 229 in .357 Sig use it (I.E. drop in replacement turning my gun into a .40 S&W?

  Yes, The Sig P229 .357 SIg will accept this .40 S&W barrel as a complete "drop-in" and able to thus convert the pistol.

  No unfortunately it won't fit. With these Sig Sauer factory barrels, you can convert your .357 Sig to 40 S&W or your .40 S&W to .357 Sig. These barrels are made of blue chrome-moly steel.

  Jacqes, Converts 357 Sig to 40 S&W in the P229. Can not convert 9mm to 40 S&W the 40 S&W conversion barrel will not fit through front of 9mm frame. Other conversion barrel could go 40S&W to 9mm, but not 9mm to 40S&W
