What a wonderfully put together rifle at a great price. Minimal adjustments our of the box needed and it shot beautifully. Shipping was fast and safe. Union made firearms. As well. Can't beat that.

Love this new rifle from Buds Guns. Came brand new in box in excellent condition. Great price $100.00 to $90.00 dollars cheaper than any were around my area.
Fast delivery and easy to order. Love the wood on this rifle. Great scope, little too nothing to sight in.

Disclaimer - I'm a novice with rifles of this type. Really, anything bigger than a bb gun is new to me. I received this product with the wood stock and Creedmore 6.5 chamber. Took it out to sight in today and fire for the first time. My friend who is more experienced was very impressed. After a few rounds at 25 yards to get on the paper, as they say, and then about 7 rounds at 100 yards, we were in a tight center circle of about 2 inches. I learned my lesson regarding scope to forehead distance the hard way - won't do that again.
It's a really well designed and built rifle, comfortable to shoot. Scope is decent for a budget scope. I'm really happy with this gun and highly recommend it for those who don't have a bunch of money to burn.

I own four Savage Axis rifles along with several 110s and a stainless 16. Most have been updated (stocks and/or barrels). The Axis action w/accu-trigger is a great, LIGHTWEIGHT action for target/varmint barrel upgrades (in composite or laminate stocks) OR for a carry gun in something different like my 260ai I built on an Axis action. But my 243 Axis II in the plastic stock with the standard 22" factory barrel shoots 1/2 MOA with zero upgrades in several hand loads. This rifle is the second Savage Creedmoor I've bought in the last two years. The Model "110 Engage" Creedmoor I bought for my nephew last fall 2018 shot factory Hornady 129g ammo at 1/2 MOA out of the box- first 5 shots dialed the scope in and the next 5 put up a 1" group up AT 200 YARDS! This was with the factory "Engage" Bushnell scope (after I re-set it and tweaked the rifle).
These rifles have always come with a lousy scope set-up. It's just the way it is, so I usually spend 30 minutes re-setting the scope to a correct 0/360, top-dead-center mount and re-torquing the scope ring screws to spec. I also usually re-check the torque on the action screws and time the scope mount screws while I'm at it. One reason to pull the action right away is to set the trigger down to the minimum 2 1/2 lbs if I'm using the rifle. Savage provides a tool for setting the trigger. Then you want to torque the front screw down very tight with the rear screw just snug (but snug enough it won't come loose). Other than the lousy scope set-up, and trigger tweak, these rifles are pretty ready to go after these few tweaks.
The strength of this gun is it's barrel- Savage is making insane accurate barrels the last few decades. ALL of my Axis rifles have shot VERY good out of the box with the above tweaks performed before hitting the range. A few times out to the range is all it takes to have an EASY MOA load in the pocket with any Savage I've owned. The threaded scope taps are always straight so the scope is easy to dial in as it bore sights pretty good by just putting the scope on. The black finish on the metal is adequate, but the stainless Axis models are what I usually get as a simple steel brush takes any blems away with a few strokes.
The weakness of this model is the plastic stock, but ONLY because a bi-pod can't be used for long distance work (which is the point of a bi-pod). The plastic stock is not rigid enough at the very front to keep the barrel from touching the inside of the stock which changes POI. One solution is to buy this model I got here with a wood stock. The wood stock IS plenty stiff, but heavier by about 10 oz. compared to the synthetic stocked model. Also, you can't find a stainless steel Axis metal sold in a wood stock either. But, later you can switch stocks around given the same action length is being used (short or long).
But hey! - for the price I LOVE my 243 in stainless in the factory, featherweight black stock for a walking gun here in Kansas woods. I use shooting sticks, and rest the gun further back from the front of the stock, right under the front of the action, and easily shoot out to 200 yards without the barrel touching the stock. But when the deer is 75-125 yards running- it's up and bang- and the Axis 243 is fast to maneuver and perfect for the average hunt here in east Kansas. And now this Creedmoor will be the perfect rifle for nephew #2, working great with or without a bipod with this NEW wood stock. This wood stock version is going to be a good prairie carry/mountain rifle. The flimsy plastic stock with the scope problems from the factory might not get a five start review; but I'm reviewing the wood stock version here and even though this gun ALSO had the same issues I've mentioned- I have to give it 5 stars since in the end it shoots!

Here again this is an inexpensive hunting rifle. Bought this along with the 308 version and ran the same fire lapping routine to break in the barrel. 6.5 Creedmoor is one of my favorite rounds. While far more accurate than the 308 this will not be a 1000 yard rifle without putting a lot of money into it. If I were hunting up to elk size game at 400 yards this would be my first choice. The scope is OK for the 100/200 yard range but you need better glass for anything further. The trigger on mine is excellent and function is perfect. The forward action screw was loose in the box when I got it so look carefully when unpacking. The only thing I don't like is the bolt release which is awkwardly placed on the right side. Savage does make shooters and mine is one of them. This was a good buy for me.

It took almost 2 weeks from the time of my purchase to receiving it. I guess I got used to Amazon. Bud's customer service was always friendly and updated me about the time line on my delivery. I will continue using Bud's in the future as needed.

Very good quality. I am happy I researched and purchased this Axis ii. NOTE: it does not come with a Weaver scope. It came with a Bushnell banner.
