I was originally a little skeptical when I bought this version of the P229 due to some of the negative reviews I have seen about malfunctions with the guns operation or with the front sight fading out shortly after they bought it. I went ahead and bought it because it had all the aftermaeket type upgrades I would of eventually done myself all in one package which ultimatley saved me time and money. I decided that I would conduct my own little torture test to see how bad or good it really is. After I received the pistol (delivery was super quick, I ordered it on Sunday night and picked it up Tuesday afternoon!) I did not clean it before I took it to the range, I did however field strip it, inspect it, and performed a function check after reassembly. Over the course of three range trips, I fired 1340 rounds of various ammunition ( bulk PMC/Blazer, Remington UMC, Hornady critical defense lite, hornady critical defense, hornady critical duty, federal premium HS, and Herter\\\\\\\'s) without cleaning or lubricating it. It finally started to fail to go into battery fully, ( only took a small tap to the back of the slide to recover) maybe 3 times and that was in the last 150 rounds. I have to say that eating a 1000 rounds without being cleaned or lubricated is pretty impressive in my book, and this exceeded that. Only thing I don\\\\\\\'t like is the reduced slide stop, it is difficult to use, but I understand they did it to reduce the chance it will get snagged on clothing for people who conceal it. The x-ray sights are amazing to use and dead on, still working on sighting in the red dot but its doing well (15 rounds in a 3 to 4 inch group at 7 yards with haste.) And I\\\\\\\'m certain I just need more training with it.

I zeroed the Romeo 1, which was way off.and started driving nails. Super accurate. I turned the Romeo1 off and used the suppressor height Xray 3 night sights. Dead on , out of the box.
I had no failures at all. I love the metal frame feel. The SRT trigger is smooth.Buying from Bud's was so easy, I was amazed.I had my gun in two days. The whole process was fantastic.

I bought this pistol after using a P229rx at a combat shoot. Several things stood out. First, the RX sight made ut easy to acquire the target and hit it...i was having trouble seeing my iron sights and the target clearly. Second, the time it took to hit more distant or smaller targets was drasticallly decreased. Third, i like the 15 round capability. Fourth, the pistol is typical Sig Sauer accurate. Fifth, the Legion quality shines through. This pistol already has several hundred rounds through it, no jams, on target, is my new carry gun!

I'm not even sure how to review a gun like this. It's the type of gun that when you hold it in your hand you just smile....alot.This gun feels great in the hand.It looks like it would be a beast. The x-ray sights are awesome and easy to cowitness. The trigger is the most incredible thing I have ever shot a gun with. The Romeo I red dot is great...I'm an old guy..62..and this gun is deadly accurate. Was it worth the money ? Indeed it is.The only negative thing is that the 15rd mags that come with it...you cannot get 15rds in them...I tried everything but only 14 will fit..but that's the only bad thing about this gun...Get one..you won't be sorry.Make sure you get it from Bud's...best price anywhere,,,great FREE shipping.

First purchase from Buds was a very good one. From order to delivery no issues. The Sig 229 RX Legion is my first Sig and it’s been a pleasure to shoot! Right out of the box the iron sights were spot on. I had to adjust the red dot some but that was easy and now that gun is a tack driver. Smooth trigger and easy take down for cleaning. It’s what I expected from Sig and they have seemed to deliver.

I love this pistol to death, absolutely worth every penny. The feature set on the Legion line are amazing. The upgraded, tuned, and polished trigger is excellent for learning good trigger control, the reset is great for quick follow up shots, and the pull weight in both double and single action are extremely manageable. The finish and grips have held up extremely well, even after several months of every day carry and hundreds of holster draws. The sights are excellent. The X-Ray sights that come on the pistol are really easy to pick up and the Romeo-1 is an amazing red dot. I have had mine on a mid level setting since I got my pistol back in April and it\'s still going strong with no battery change needed. I was really worried about battery life from other reviews I had read online about the optic. The dot is crisp and small enough to get some good accuracy at distance. The gun has been 100 percent reliable out of the box with a variety of ammo from junk steel case range stuff to the variety of odd shaped hollow points I have run through it, it has fed and fired every time. The DA/SA action also provides second strike capability if you encounter a hard primer, which I haven\'t up to this point but anything is possible.

In the realm of cons, I only have a couple of complaints. For one, the magazines, even after a couple thousand rounds cycled through them, are still tough to load to full capacity, I don\'t know if that\'s just a thing with 226/229 magazines but they are significantly harder to load than my p320 magazines of the same capacity. Second, the optic was not tight to the slide when it came to me, I had to torque it down before I went shooting for the first time. The last thing I noticed out of the box was that the sights were off to the left (from the shooters perspective) of the slide by a pretty noticeable margin, about a millimeter and a half or so. both the front and rear were off the same degree, so I think it would have shot accurately, but to be safe I drifted them to the right so they were centered on the slide. A minor annoyance, but I think that for a 1500 dollar pistol it should be perfect out of the box. That being said I haven\'t heard any similar complaints anywhere else.

The last thing I have to say about this pistol is that I wish that it came out of the box with a threaded barrel from Sig. With the suppressor height sights and the optic, this gun will be a sweet suppressor host, as soon as mine gets out of NFA prison, but before I can do that I have to shell out another 200 dollars to get the threaded barrel from Sig. For the value of the gun, it would be pretty cool if Sig provided it from the factory as a built in cost of the gun, even if it made the gun a little more expensive from an MSRP perspective.

All in all, this is an excellent gun for enthusiasts who enjoy the finer details. This is not a good \"first gun\" buy, nor is it something that will appeal for someone who is looking for something for home protection, even though it is a perfectly capable gun. This is for someone who is into high end guns, like custom 1911s or Wilson Combat guns. It\'s as much an art piece as it is a tool for protection. I would definitely recommend this to someone looking for something like that.

This purchase was a smooth as possible! I am very happy with the transaction and will purchase again with Bud Gun Shop
The gun itself was more than I was expecting best price I found on the web and out of the box amazing. First trip to thecrange I ran 200 rounds through the Legion 229 RX. By the end of the session I was grouping 2” at 25 yards. I am sure this will tighten up as I get more familiar with the optics. Thank you to Sig for producing a great gun and Buds for making the purchase painless. I would recommend both to any of my friends or family.

Buds couldn%u2019t have made this purchase easier!! I had searched the internet for a 229 Legion RX at a reasonable price. Not only did Buds have the best price they gave you the option of the 90 day payment plan. This plan made it easy to pay on the gun, ( me a little over a month). The payment system convenient as simple to use. After the final payment an email was sent letting me know the gun would ship to my FFL in a few business days I was able to track my order and once it arrived at my FFL it was a normal gun purchase from there!! Great first time experience I have told most of my friends about Buds and will be using them again!!!
