I shoot for enjoyment mostly but do like to know my firearms will work when needed. These Hornady rounds were used in two Smith and Wesson revolvers I own so no feeding problems. I didn't recover any of the lead so I don't know if they really expand well or not. They do go boom but thats about all I know for sure.

Great .38 Special ammo for the range. Fired it in my Taurus 82 revolver and my Bond Arms Texas Defender derringer. No problem after 200 rounds.

I chose this round for a couple of reasons. In testing it was shown that the polymer tip helps keep the hollow point from filling up with material as it passes through a target. If the hollow point fills with enough compressed material it can cause the bullet to act like a FMJ bullet. Also this round in testing was shown to not pass through a target.
