The 17 Series of bolt action rifles helps heighten the fun of rimfire shooting while maintaining Savage standards of meticulous crafting with the balance of modern, high-tech methods and old-world hand craftsmanship. The BTVLSS, for left-handed shooters, comes with the built-in adjustability and safety of AccuTrigger, so there's no need for a gunsmith to modify it. AccuTrigger also provides a crisp, clean trigger pull, which enhances accuracy. The BTVLSS features a stainless steel heavy varmint barrel and detachable box magazine set in a thumbhole stock with a natural wood-grained laminate finish and a Monte Carlo-style comb. Every 17 series model provides tack-driving accuracy powerful enough for dispatching small game and varmints.

Never had a 17 hmr once I found the rim fire cartridge the rifle liked I am a happy camper Hittib RITZ cracker at 200 yds is so easy. Emerald pre mountain Speer 17 gr bullet dos the jog. All othe shoot well BUT Speer does much bettter

This is the first Savage I have owned and very pleased with the style and more so the accuracy. Put a 6 power scope on this one and it does drive tacks at 40 yards. It like the thumb thru pistol grip stock (and the finish). No issues at all with chambering a .17 with the clips that were supplied. Bud's came through again. Right price, fast shipping and tracking. What can I say? Bud's is number 1 in my opinion.

This is the second one of these guns I have owned, but the first one I have bought from Buds, I placed my order on Thursday and The gun was at my ffl dealer on Monday, so how much faster could I expect to get a awesome gun at a awesome deal anywhere else..I believe in buying from my local gun shop but since they have all shut down, I will be buying my guns from buds from here on out....awesome gun! Awesome deal!

Having already owned a Savage .17HMR rifle, I ordered this because I had an old gloss Leupold scope laying around without a home. As usual, the experience with Buds was great. This rifle which is listed on the Savage website as having a "high luster" finish, showed up matte. I called Savage, "Yeah, we no longer offer that finish on any of our guns, I'll let the web designer know." This is a quality product however it now has a matte finish.
