I really love this revolver. It is accurate. The trigger is a bit stiff. I don’t like the grip but they are super easy to change.

I love these revolvers and have recommended them to many friends. Expensive, as you'd expect from Smith. But not the fit and finish I'd expect from Smith--especially being so expensive. It's like a 95% gun that you want to give to a skilled person to make perfect. Still, I expect my great-grandchildren will be shooting this same gun 80 years from now.

I bought this revolver several years ago, I am very pleased with it. I have an older M63 4" square butt I bought new back in the early 80's. Both are good shooters. I actually like the 3 1/2 barrel better than the 4", it seems in a J frame size, the 3 1/2" feels and balances better in the hand.

Love this .22 Cal. revolver. This thing is the all steel version of the S&W J frame. It is a little heaver than the aluminum frame gun. But I like a peace that has a little heft to it, as it balances better for me & I get quicker accurate follow up shots. Ben to the range several times & the M63 never fails to deliver top performance. Always works perfect, always on target. Even with a couple hundred rounds through it (dirty). Just a great little gun. Good to teach the kids with too.

I don't typically write reviews on guns I've purchased, but this little gun deserves a glowing review. It's one of my favorite hand guns and goes with me on nearly every trip to my farm property. It is amazingly accurate given the short barrel (easily hits a 4 inch plate at 15 yds), holds eight rounds (which is awesome!), and is light enough to carry on my belt all day at the farm without even thinking about it. It has a perfect weight to it so it feels great in the hand for shooting (the aluminum version of this same gun feels like a toy gun when held for comparison) and is still light enough for all day carry. So many uses from plinking with adults or kids (revolvers are great to teach kids on), to disposing of a problematic critter in the barn, to having on your belt at all times for that added sense of security. On top of all that the stainless look, fit, and finish is top notch. I can't say enough positives about this great little "farm gun". It's one the most used gun purchases I've ever made.

Typical S&W excellence! Upon receiving, I took the model 63 to the range. Ran about 200 rounds of Fed, .22 LR 36 Gr HPs bulk ammo through it. Gun initially shot a little high at 40 feet. Made adjustment for elevation and started shooting 1 1/2"-1.75" groups with that 3" barrel! I'm 74 so younger eyes could probably do better. All groups were shot single action only. My Lyman trigger gage consistently measured SA trigger pull around a 3.5 lb with no creep and typical glass rod break!
While I didn't shoot double action for groups the average Lyman trigger gauge had the pull weight consistently at 10.5 lbs and very smooth!!
Very happy with my purchase and was well worth the wait to finally get one (about 6 months). Also happy with Bud's professional handling of the purchase process being I'm in Ohio and Bud's in Kentucky.
While I didn't shoot double action for groups the average Lyman trigger gauge had the pull weight consistently at 10.5 lbs and very smooth!!
