quiet and very effective for squirrels up to 25 feet.

It hurts me to have to say anything bad about CCI, but these are just not good at all. There is nothing like having to take a priceless family Heirloom apart because it is loaded full of bbs. They do not load the next round, so even in a semi-auto rifle, you need to charge it every single time you fire. The point is to be able to use them in barns and in areas where you don't want damage done to your property. The cap just seems expensive and is a point of failure if you plan to run these out of a rifle. I could see these working ok out of a revolver. They work as advertised, just a tiny bit weak even for rat shots. I also had problems with casings ejecting properly. So if you have a garden gun or a revolver, go for it, other than that I would say try another option. I'm giving them 3 stars because they do work as advertised.

I purchased these shotshells to use in my lever action Henry Garden Gun. I also purchased the Winchester SuperX version of these shells.



On the plus side, the CCI shells hold a nice tight pattern out to the effective range of the gun. They also have a %u201Cquiet%u201D report and do not leave much residue in the barrel. I%u2019ve taken down several sparrows in my barn and they do an effective job without causing damage to the building.



On the negative side, they are fairly expensive and in spite of the cost, the %u201Cshot%u201D is really just mostly grit with a few actual sized BBs. The rounds did load nicely but I had the plastic cap on one of them break as it went into the chamber. It made a mess in my action and took quite a while to clean out all the grit. Since then, I%u2019ve been leery of using them. Even though the Winchester rounds are louder and do not pattern as well, the crimped end takes that worry away and they still drop the sparrows.



I%u2019m rating them middle of the road for myself and the type of gun I shoot. For a gun that would not be so affected by a broken cap, I%u2019d go up one more on the rating.

Goes bang every time in my revolver but not much good on pests.

I wanted something quieter than my 38spl but these took 5 rounds and a shovel to stop a snake whereas my 38 always only took 1 round of CCI shot shell.

Expensive at over 50 cents a pop. But always have some around for pests when a regular 22LR would be just too much. High quality from CCI ... I just wish they also produced their shotshells for the .480 Ruger.
