As economy friendly ammunition, suitable for self defense goes, this specific caliber and weight is the best of Winchester's White Box offerings I've ever tried! They're consistent to point-of-aim in every 9mm pistol I've tried them in. In 4 different guns, from 3 different manufacturers, with barrels from 3.27" with polygon rifling, to 4.5" with standard rifling, in both left-hand and right-hand twists, it just plain WORKS! No failures to fire, or to properly operate the actions of any of my 9mm pistols. Smooth as silk with every trigger pull. No excessive flash or felt recoil either. It may not be considered premium or boutique level ammo, but in all the performance testing I've seen in ballistic gel and other analogous targets, it offers excellent expansion (although not as uniform as some of the Bonded types on the market) and sufficient penetration from virtually every common barrel length you'll find on modern handguns. I get that maybe there's some extra piece of mind with certain 'premium' ammo options out there, and that not all of the Winchester White Box offerings are as consistent and effective as these 9mm 115 grain JHP's are, but I wouldn't hesitate to use these as my primary carry ammunition, and for the price, they're some of the best around!
