  it is a alloy replica of a M9 not a true M9 the owners manual says " the M9-22lr has been designed for high quality standard and HV(High Velocity) ammunition" it does not say anything about the hyper velocity ammo I suggest that you contact beretta and ask 1-800 929-2901
