good looking gun nice fit and finish but performance lacking !i bought this and it was bad dirty from the factory.gun ftf 1st round on several different occassions never got threw a full mag without a ftf . every other round misfire .I broke gun down and did a good cleaning and polished feed ramp that helped some but not with the misfires .It is like the firing pin is not striking hard enough.Another thing to mention is the long reset on the trigger ,when you fire this gun you have to let trigger go back all the way back before it will fire again I hate this I guess with some training you would get used to it but I have a lot of other guns that aren't like that so it just ain't worth it. taurus service sucks trying to deal with them is a pain in the ass so save yourself a headache and buy something else I am going to sell this hunk of junk just as soon as I find someone I don't like .buds was good as always.

The Taurus PT638 is a great handgun. Comes with two 15 rd magazines. took it to the range fired approx. 200 rd through it - no problems at all. It is not your 380 pocket rocket, but still very handy for concealed carry. Very accurate, the rear sight is adjustable for both elevation and windage. I would highly recommend this weapon if you are looking to carry a 380.

Ordered and received in 9 days. This gun is well made and a bargin at the price paid. Cleaned upon receipt and took to the range. Smooth trigger and accurate. This gun is as good or better than any of my other 380's and well worth the price. I would highly recommend to anyone wanting a 380ACP.

It is a shame that Taurus has discontinued this model. It shoots like a dream. I cleaned the gun and ran 25 rounds of Hornady Critical Defense through it without any problems. Recoil was a little snappy due to the small size but nothing over the top. It was shooting slightly to the left but the rear sights can be adjusted easily with a small screwdriver. Now all is well. The metal work is really good and the fit and finish are top notch. Take down and cleaning is simple. This weapon is no pocket pistol, It has a large caliber feel and weight in a smaller caliber. Highly recommended if you can still get one new.
