  ● Shroud that encircles either all or part of the barrel designed to shield the bearer’s hand from heat, excluding a slide that encloses the barrel.

• Q: Can you shoot the 450 super or the 450 smc ammo safely in this firearm?

  yes you can "DoubleTap maintains in their literature that the .450 SMC cartridge can be safely fired in any .45 ACP pistol, revolver or carbine which is rated for .45 ACP +P ammunition, no modifications required." but more frequent recoil spring replacement or a heavier spring would be advisable

• Q: What does this gun require for scope mounting rings ? Low, med, high, or xtra high? It looks like the front sight might be a height issue. Do you have to remove the iron sights before installing the scope?

  Hi Jarrit, yes sir the barrel is threaded .578 x 28 . The non-threaded models will end the model number with NTB (Non Threaded Barrel)

  Ken, this carbine ejects slightly forward and to the right at the 2 o'clock position. The stock is long enough that your cheek will keep a lefty's face clear of the ejecting brass. My brother is a lefty and has no issues firing his 9mm Hi Point Carbine.
