It came with beautiful rose wood grips. I have to replace them with rubber grips to be able to better control the shots of the .44 Mag.

Had to return, ordered a 0813, but received the 5-1/2" barreled version. Beautiful, but NOT what I ordered. Was NOT a BUD's error, a number of 5-1/2" barreled revolvers went out in 4.62" boxes.

I recently purchased this beautiful revolver. The frame is a dark, lustrous blue, and the wood grips are a bit darker than shown in the picture, but they complement the revolver nicely. I have not had the chance to take it to the range yet, but look forward to it. This Ruger complements my other Blackhawk convertibles in .357/9mm, .45 colt/.45 ACP, and Single Six .22/.22 WMR. If you are in the market for a sturdy revolver with a good reputation and a great company behind it, this is an excellent choice.

I had to send this gun back to Ruger two times before it had even fired 200 rounds. Both malfunctions consisted of the gun locking up -- neither the hammer nor the trigger would budge. I just got the gun back from Ruger after the second "fix" so we'll see how long before it locks up again. Needless to say, I'm not the Ruger fan I once was.
