Bruce, yes Sir, it is CA compliant -- Since the Super blackhawk revolver is a single action revolver, it is legal in CA. Single action revolvers are exempt from having to be safety tested and put on the list. --- : https://www.ruger.com/search/state_ca/revolver

YES, this is California Compliant. As long as the single-action revolver has a barrel of 3" or more, and the overall length has to be at least 7.5" then it is exempt from CA roster requirement. I hope this helps!

Not much to say about this bad boy except. Yeehaw! Giddy-up! Big daddy's coming to town! Got it fitted with a satin Leupold scope and its ready for bear. The shine alone will scare him off.

Unfortunately I have to downgrade this revolver for cosmetic issues right out of the box. It is currently back to Ruger to try to remove numerous deep scratches both on the barrel and the frame. It should never have left the factory in this condition. Ruger did pay to return the firearm and I was told the turnaround time is only 5-10 days but that does not change my opinion of the firearm or my newly acquired negative opinion of Ruger's lack of quality control. Be wary of purchasing a Ruger based upon my experience.

This is a nice well built gun.......glad I bought it, I love my S&W model 29 with the 6.5 " barrel, for carry, but the Ruger will hold up better for continuous heavy load shooting.....once again Buds is the Best!
