A diagonal front-screw bedding system and reinforcing cross-bolt firmly anchors the receiver into the stock, providing solid construction to handle the most powerful magnum cartridges. M77 Mark II Magnum bolt-action rifles boast a one-piece bolt that has proven to be one of the strongest on the market.
These rifles offer nonrotating, Mauser-type controlled round feed extractors (the most positive case extraction system ever invented) and fixed blade-type ejectors that positively eject empty cases as the bolt is moved fully rearward, both essential features for a dangerous game rifle. The patented floorplate latch, which is mounted flush with the front of the trigger guard, secures the hinged floorplate against accidental dumping of cartridges, yet allows quick and easy unloading of the magazine by simply pressing on the outside of the guard.
