Pure lead works best and my home built KY rifle loves these as well as the .445's I ordered. In fact, these are much more accurate than my modern inline shooting the dollar a pop factory bullets.I also roll my own and they shoot almost as well but not quite. I save the Hornady's for hunting and my homegrowns for plinkin and target shooting at the range. Thanks Bud's and Hornady for excellent products. rb
