Most people say it takes around 1000 pounds of energy to efficiently and humanley kill a whitetail deer. So you're not very far off so I'd say you're good to go. I've seen people kill deer with much less energy, and even with 22 lr, not that I'd hunt deer with a 22 but it can be done. The better question is do you feel confident enough in your shooting skills to get a kill shot at that distance, if so then I'd say go for it. I've heard of people using the 6.5 creedmoor for out past 400 yards so you'll be fine. Hope this helps.

It will come down to the 400 yard accuracy in YOUR Rifle consider the 357 Mag There are commercially available cartridges, for example, with 158-grain bullets that have 500 foot- pounds of energy at the muzzle, dropping to 425 foot-pounds at 50 yards and people routinely take deer at 50 yards with the 357

Yes thats more then sufficient, with good shot placement l, considering that bow hunters take deer with about 30-40 ft/lbs

Excellent ammo at a great price. Shot groups were on par with the Hornady and Sig ammo I also use.

Very pleased with the price of this ammo and the performance. Very accurate round out of my CVA Scout V2 in 6.5 Creedmoor. I've used S&B amo over the years in various handguns with good results so with my 6.5 rifle i wasn't surprised how well it grouped.One inch grouping @ 100 yds. I plan to try it on whitetail in the fall.
