I understand it's fake, but is it "only for looking cool in a display case" fake? Or can i actually attach this to a handgun and fire it? Just without any actual noise suppression.

Gemtech says it "a display item and is not intended to be shot." If it is hollow and open all the way through, I suppose shooting with it attached would be up to you. But if things went bad, it would all be on you.

This is "Fake" (Real Shell but no internals). It is inert. For display only.

It is fake. It is only the outer shell. For "display" only. Not functional as a suppressor.

Its a good question (the word display doesn't mean real or fake). And if unfamiliar with them, the price isn't a giveaway. But knowing what I do about them, the price alone tells me its a look a like only and not a real functioning silencer or suppressor.

The GM-22 Gemtech display silencer is top quality. It looks authentic enough to fool my shooting buddy and acts like a muzzle brake when used on my .22 pistol. It is a good option for those of us shooters who can't afford the real thing or don't want to jump through all the hoops to buy a real one.

This is a great accessory for a Ruger SR-22 pistol (if you have the threaded barrel of course) that makes it look cool without all the tax stamp and money crap. I shoot Aguila Colibri ammo through it at home into a steel bullet box with no problem. However, don't try to shoot high velocity ammo through it...goes bad.
