Incredible ammo. Very hot stuff, but you wouldn't know it based on the recoil profile being less than standard 115gr. ball. Highly accurate test groupings out of a P-10C. Very much fear this ammo if you're on the wrong side of it!

Very good defense ammo if over penetration is a concern. It rapidly dumps its energy upon impact and fragments while the base of the bullet goes in a little deeper. It’s a higher than normal velocity round but the felt recoil is less than a standard round or at least it feels that way.

I have been using Liberty Civil Defense ammo in .45 ACP for sometime now. I purchased a 9mm via budsgunshop.com & decided to give the Liberty 9mm a try. Just like the .45 version, the +P 9mm is reliable. Fed 20rnds w/o issue. Even tho it’s +P rated the felt recoil is no worse than 124gr NATO 9mm, in my opinion Liberty’s ammo has less felt recoil, not by much but noticeable for me. You should make sure your firearm is +P rated before using this ammo. You should also practice w/it to get a feel for it. I practice with it @twice a year. It’s not recommended to run a steady diet of this through your pistol. Buds has the best price/shipping I’ve found so far.

If you are not carrying Civil Defense you are WRONG! Buy an extra few boxes to get used to shooting this round. It is different. Very light, recoil is different than standard weight ammo. This stuff is pretty and pretty devastating if it hits its target.

I bought Liberty Civil Defense ammo in the majority of rounds I use .380 acp, 9mm, and .45 acp. While I have not shot it personally, I have listened to the recommendations of others whose opinion I value. It's a frangible bullet, which means if you're using it for home defense or CCW, you don't have to worry about over-penetration and the projectile injuring or killing a bystander in the house or behind the bad guy. It basically explodes on impact, while providing enough energy to force a wound channel and knockdown power that will stop the bad guy immediately if you hit them in the CIZ(Critical Incapacitation Zone). Very pricey, but consider the liability of a hot load that goes through your intended target and strikes someone else. Once that bullet leaves your gun, you own it. No matter what happens. Cheap, if you consider the cost of defending yourself in a civil suit.
