I like the flip-up ladder sight on this carbine a lot better than the full buckhorn that comes on most rifles. I like the blued frame because: 1) I like the appearance; and 2) because it's a couple of hundred cheaper than CCH. The wood on this gun is terrific, with nice grain and a darker finish than most guns like it. If you work on your own guns, this one comes with super-duper-tight screws just like every other Uberti 1873 I've ever touched. I expected that, so it didn't keep me from giving this carbine five stars. Bud's, as always, is five-star great.

The carbine is beautiful in fit and finish. It does shoot about 4" high at 5 yards, but groups about 1" at the same distance. Bud's ordering and shipping were trouble free. This was a Fast Track item that I ordered on a weekend and my FFL received it on Wednesday.
