I am thinking about trading my Sig Sauer Ultra Carry 1911 for this Les Baer and would like to know if anyone has shot the Concerpy VII yet and what is your thoughts. Trying to make up my mind on this one!

A Les Baer 1911 is a thing of beauty. If you can check one out in person, the difference in quality (as well as price) compared to Sigs, DWs, Kimbers, and etc is pretty obvious. Most of what you're paying for a Baer is labor. Lots of filing, polishing, grinding, and etc. Check out this video of the Les Baer factory, it gives you an idea of what goes into each 1911 they build. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VbHqKN5zcy4&t=1s I haven't owned a Concept, but have a Premier II in .45, one in 9mm on order, as well as Stinger in 9mm - to me they are worth every penny, but it all depends on what you're comfortable with spending. I don't know about the Commanche (commander sized Baers) but the 5" are guranteed to shoot 3" groups at 50 yards, unless you order the 1.5" gurantee which is an even tighter fitted gun. And yes, it will shoot a 1.5" group at 50 yards ;)

Some will say the Les Baer Concept VII is a better and more refined firearm, and I would agree this is true. However, the Sig is no slouch for the money and will more than handle any task put before it. This is definitely an apples to oranges comparison and will depend solely on which you like best Alton. If you are severely torn, then both may be in order.

If the Sig Ultra Compact is reliable I'd stay with that. The finish will last longer for daily carry and take much less care than the blued steel Les Baer. If you just want to own something with a lot of cool factor and high resale then go with the Concept Vll.

I have made many purchases from Bud’s, all have been fantastic. Fast delivery times, quality firearms, GREAT prices. Now on to the gun. Les Baer makes one of the FINEST 1911’s on the market. Fit, finish and function is second to none. The minute you take the oily gun from the wrappings the quality just pops! After a couple hundred rounds down range I have had no issues with great groupings. The only note I could add here is my particular gun will not slingshot. The slide stop has to be used to chamber a round. Really no big deal for me, but may be for others. Thanks Bud’s and Les Baer!
