I purchased a combo in a different caliber and it was shipped in the soft case. Anyone else have that happen? No damage but I would like to order a different caliber but am concerned that it may shipped the same way being that it has a scope mounted to the rifle.

Hi Mark Yes most are shipped in Soft Cases. It should've been in a cardboard box though when it was received by your FFL.

Is the Scope on the rifle already sighted in from the factory ?

Mike, This CVA Hunter comes equipped with a CVA DEAD-ON scope mount, along with a mounted and bore sighted Konus 3-9x32 scope. (You will need to fine tune to your ammo of choice).

May I shoot .44special in the CVA Hunter without the bullet tumbling

Yes, the once the bullet engages the rifling it will stabilize. Only a bullet of less than 44 caliber (that would not fully engage the rifling) would tumble. Same concept as 38 Special being fired out of a 357 mag.

Perfect value in a whitetail rifle inside 150 yards. No recoil compared to shotgun slugs, and my daughters are 6/6 with one-shot kills on mature Iowa bucks. 2 dropped in their tracks with 240 grain Federal Power Shoks.

For being a budget minded rifle the quality of the firearm is very good! I was surprised at how robust the barrel was, and the overall weight of the firearm which helps tame the recoil of hotter rounds. My biggest thumbs up goes to the trigger. It breaks clean and my digital scale recorded it at just under 3 lbs. I reloaded and tested 185, 210, 240, two different 265s, 270, and two different 300 grain bullets through this rifle and the best overall were the 300's. The only real weak point in my opinion is the cheap scope, as it gives a slightly foggy view. The cross hairs haven't moved due to recoil, and the scope has kept its zero so overall it's not a pos. Still if I had been able to test one out prior to purchase I'd have just purchased the base model and put on one of my own scopes. Overall I'm pleased with the purchase.

Ordered rifle on saturday and picked up at ffl dealer wednsday. Buds was flawless as usual and rifle was in perfect condition. Thanks buds!
