LEG PONTR SPTG 12 3 28 MCBLK 5 - 28" Barrel, 5 Rounds, 3" Chamber

Purchased this gun as strictly a waterfowl gun, the low price had me hesitant but I took a Chance and it has far exceeded my expectations, the quality, fit, finish and functionality is honestly that of an auto triple this price. This gun is well balanced, swings and cycles smooth. It's alot of gun for the money. Extremely happy with it and the outstanding service and ridiculous ridiculous fast shipping from buds as always!

Received my pointer shotgun from Bud's in good order and in a timely manner. The gun arrived at my FFL broken down in its hard case, with a set of 5 choeks, stock shims and choke wrench as advertised. The "multicam black" camo is dark, and the stock, receiver and barrel are camo. The gun was put together without issue, as it is virtually identical to my wife's Tristar gr2. Two gas pistons are included, with the light piston mounted in the gas block and the heavy piston neatly hidden away in the fore end.
Shooting impressions: (pro)
1. the gun points well and is well balanced.
2. fired 4 different loads: federal Walmart 1 1/8 oz @1200fps, estate 1oz at 1300, estate 11/8 oz at 1250, and RX 1 1/8 oz at 1300fps. All cycled perfectly (3rounds of each were fired at a patterning board at 25yds, and the empties all landed in a pile about 6ft from the gun.
3. I then shot 2 rounds of five stand and shot at 23 and 22 out of 25.
4. Two days later I entered a 100 bird sporting clays match and shot a 91 out of 100 with it, tying for 3rd place. Recoil was modest after 100 rounds.

1. It is a gas driven gun and therefore must be kept clean. They shoot dirty. After 100 rounds over the period of 2 hours in 90+ heat, the gun functioned perfectly. Not really a complaint.
My overall impression is that this shotgun is a well balanced, reliable gun that I have no hesitation to hunt or compete with. It went up against much more expensive upper end guns and easily held its own. If you are looking for a reasonable priced gun that will shoot with the rest of them, buy it. WORTH THE THREE BILLS!!!

Shot one round of skeet with it. It worked fine. A little heavy compared to the 20 and 28 gauge with walnut but to be expected.
