I was highly disappointed by this gun. For the $1700 I paid for it, it should have been at least *as reliable* as a gun under half the price. It was extremely angering to be at the range experiencing repeated short strokes, while a $500 PSA AR pistol runs circles around the gun. I cannot recommend the 5.56 model ACE to anyone. Buy something else for this insane price. There are far better options than it.

Great shtf rifle that takes AR mags and shoots brass and steel cased with no issues. Slightly less accurate then an AR but accurate enough for my type of shooting.

A remarkable weapon. Nothing compares, I'm a staunch long term collector of all three Generations of Galil's and variants. There is nothing to compare with this weapon. Following the 6 day war in the 60's the Israeli's had a disastrous outcome with the beautiful Belgian FAL, yet, it just fouled out with the powdered sand, even when lightning cuts were machined into the bolts, it was right weapon for the wrong environment. The Kalashnikov was the obvious answer, but an improved version, a Finnish Valmet entered service until the Galil was brought into service. A bar stock milled enhanced Kalashnikov of impeccable quality was created.
This is the 3rd generation and it is a beautifully machined work of art. I bought 2 and have the deepest regrets I could not buy more, yet having owned every variant, you can buy this rifle with absolute confidence.
Support the Israeli people, they are masters of mental toughness, self reliance, and remarkable weapon systems. May God watch over the Israeli people as first line gatekeepers to mitigating hell earth.

Awesome rifle, the folding / telescoping stock is the best stock on the market in my opinion, superior to any of the Magpul or MFT products that are on my ARs. Ran 500 rounds through it and no failures. I do a test on new rifles by running six 30 round mags through them as fast as I can, no problems, functioned perfectly and reliably. Accuracy is equal to an AR. Empty mags drop free and the controls are in similar locations to an AR with an added bolt catch on the right side of the receiver and best of all, a left side charging handle so you can keep your strong hand on the grip and trigger. Easy to clean. Buy with confidence.

IWI Rifle equals Solid Build, Heavy Duty, Quality Machining, Built to Run. Very satisfied with my Galil Ace 556 purchase. I have purchased several firearms from Buds. I recently ordered the IWI Galil ACE from Buds and as usual, the purchasing process was smooth and the delivery to my local dealer was quick and efficient. I purchased the 16" ACE rifle version. The IWI Galil ACE is, like all IWI products, a well built and solid rifle. It has perhaps the smoothest and slickest operation of any semiauto rifle I have ever encountered. A pull of the left side charging handle brings the smooth and sweet action of a well machined, very high quality product. I could fine no machining marks at all. The folding stock is solid with no play or wobble of any kind and has adequate adjustments. Bringing the rifle to the cheek easily aligns with the sights. I have added an EO Tech red dot sight and it fits well on the rail but does not allow a co-witness, I'm sure other red dots will align fine if that is your desire. Shooting the ACE is very easy and I found the controls very intuitive and easy and crisp to operate. I was shooting 62gr military manufacture 5.56mm ammo and with small adjustments to my EO Tech was able to get solid rings on 8 inch gongs ranging out to 300 yards with ease. The ACE handles well and is very pleasing to carry and shoot. The fit and finish is flawless and the rail system allows all the rail space I need although it does not stretch all the way to the muzzle to allow the now popular "C" grip. It was very comfortable for me and my 6 foot frame and average arm length. I am very pleased with the ACE and have no complaints, I can highly recommend the IWI Galil ACE!

This was the second purchase that I have made with Buds and I could not be more pleased. Very good selection and in many cases better than my local gun dealers. Fast service and delivery. Very pleased with my Galil and it was one of those gun that was on my bucket list to own.

I was torn between a retro galil clone and the galil ace... I decided to postpone the retro galil build for a later project and get the real deal galil! This beaut runs flawlessly and did not experience FTFs with 200 rounds through it, using 55gr federal rem. The action is so buttery smooth.. olympic ice skating smooth. In 5.56 nato with a 16" barrel, it shoots as accurate as an AR15. Recoil isn't as bad as most AK variants since the weight dampens the majority of the muzzle jump. Holds zero with an optic on the dust cover so no issues there. Longer sight radius compared to the standard AK. No feeding issues due to the polished barrel, as it should be. Trigger is a little heavier than an AR15 trigger, but its crisp and better than an AK trigger. It prefers gen 3 pmags over gen 2. Gen 2 hangs up on the plastic well of the lower receiver. The grips are good to go but could use some aftermarket support (for some variety). However, there are aftermarket handguards from RS regulate and Midwest Industries as well as skeleton stocks from KNS precision...
You're pretty much getting the best of both from the AR15 and AK rifles! Hands down go buy one.

I can not express how awesome this firearm is. Let me start with Buds. The order placed and time recieved was lightening quick...as always,Thank you Buds!! The Ace was a coveted work of art that I had my eye on for a while and when I was able to get it,I did not hesitate. All the research I did,which I do with every firearm I purchase,found Buds to have the best price. The hardest decision was either to get it in 7.62 or 5.56. I chose 5.56 due to the fact that I wanted to limit having to purchase different calibers of ammo. It took me a couple of months to get this puppy out to the range but once I did,it was worth the wait. A shooter friendly rifle that is accurate. I ran apprx 250 rounds through it and hit very tight groupings at 50,75,&100yrds. The Ace is the perfect combo of AK & AR. The Ace has the has the mechanics and dependability of an AK and smooth operation of an AR. IWI really has developed a rifle that is both pleasing to the eye and even more satisfying to shoot. I have a number of firearms and love them all but the Ace holds a special place in my heart. I have a customized AR from Windham Weaponry and absolutely love it but the Ace is just an exceptional weapon. A nice middle ground if you cant decide on owning either platform of rifle regarding AK or AR. Upon receipt and inspection of the Ace,all was well. You can really tell this rifle is built to last. I did,for the price,wonder why it came in a cardboard box but Once I pulled it out of the box and saw its beauty it was easy to forget about that. Everything about this gun is sweet in my opinion. It has rails all over the place to attach as many attachments as you want. Foldable stock is perfect for storage and transport. Night sights are standard but it came with one magazine which was also a minor disappointment. I also had to order a sheet of Talon grip to put on the pistol grip. The Galils grip is like an AK small,for my hands,and very smooth. Adding the Talon grips made a huge difference in a confident gripping. I have since added an NcStar 7x32 blue reticle scope,single point sling,and a Cvlife 360° rotating bi-pod to it,the Ace is a bit weighty. Along with a couple of other minor customizations and personal preferences,there really isn't much you would have to do in order to be proud to own one. Overall,it was worth the wait and the price,a gem in my collection that I would recommend anyone to own. Thanks again Buds!

I have been looking at the ACE series of rifles since Christmas of 2016 when I found out from a friend about the two 7.62 versions. When I saw a review of the 5.56 version and found it can take AR mags and has a bolt hold open, I decided on it. I am impressed with the build quality. Taking it down and putting it back together did take some effort due to the tight fit of the top cover. It ran flawlessly with federal bulk .223, feeding from both aluminum and p-mags. Plan on getting an optic for precision work as the front sight covers a lot of real estate even at 50 yards.
