Smith & Wesson LE Model 629 Deluxe 6.5" 44mag Revolver - Stainless/Silver, 6.5" Barrel, 6 Rounds, Wood Grips, 3-Dot Sights

Received this 44 magnum in a timely fashion. Bud's kept me updated via email on every step. I have fired both magnum and special ammo with no problems. Fit and finish are excellent. The only downside, this modern S&W has that senseless ugly internal lock on the side. Overall, this revolver is everything I expected when ordering. I would buy it again.

“Make my day, punk!” I remember falling in love with the S&W 44 Magnum after watching Clint Eastwood as Harry Callahan in Dirty Harry back when the movie first appeared on the big screen. I was too young and too poor to afford a firearm at the time but my best friend at the time bought one. He got the 8-3/8” barrel version which was touted as the world’s most powerful handgun at the beginning of the movie. I guess your priorities change and when I got my drivers license, I was much more eager to buy a car than a firearm. Between now (2021) and then (mid 1970s), life just got in the way like most people I suppose - things like school, dating, marriage, kids, military service (Colt M16 in Basic Training & S&W Revolver in Officer Training), cars, house, etc. Fast forward nearly 5 dacades, I finally have my first revolver, and it’s this S&W Model 629 Deluxe - the gun Harry Callahan carried throughout the movie with the 6” barrel and not the 8-3/8” barrel featured at the beginning of the movie. For me, it’s not only about shooting (also have a Colt AR, Sig Sauer Legion, Colt & Springfield Armory 1911s, and Mini Glock for Conceal & Carry), but the memory of wanting but not being able to afford or legally able to own one, to finally owning my first revolver and I’m (or is that not just me but an army comprised of Smith, Wesson and me) glad it’s a S&W 44 Magnum I wanted as a kid 😊

I actually do! Great gun, looks amazing and shoots like a dream with 44 special. Almost no kick, but if you’re feeling frothy it’s a beast with 240 grain magnum rounds!

As usual great service from Buds. This is my first Smith & Wesson and I'm impressed with the fit and finish, the cylinder lock up is tight. I haven't had a chance to fire it yet but I'm guessing some rubber grips are in its future.

Love this gun! Super accurate and nice action. The grips SUCK though. Slick and have an edge at the top that digs into you thumb knuckle. I replaced mine with the X-frame grip on the 500 magnums with the gel in the back strap. Very comfortable to shoot now.
