YES! It will RUN 2 3/4. Capacity of 5+1 with 2 3/4-inch shells. The only thing it wouldn't eat was Aguila mini shells. I hope this helps!

Stephen, this shotgun has a 3 inch chamber and will run shorter shells like 2.75 no issues. The mini-shells do not have enough powder/velocity to reliably cycle though. Cheers and stay safe!

Stephen, this gun is chambered in 3 inch, so yes it will take 2 3/4" shells, however it will not cycle the mini shells.

The 1301 Tactical is offered in 12 gauge only at this point and features a 3 inch chamber. In a small, lightweight shotgun like this one, you really don't want to shoot 3 ½ inch shells anyway - it's not intended to be a turkey hunting gun. Above is a quote directly from berreta usa website. So yes it will run 3" and shorter.

What is the difference between this and the J131T18C model?

LE Model (the one you selected) barrel is a fixed choke and not screw in. LE model didn't opt to include the new choked models. The J131T18C model is few hundreds more expensive but come with screw in chokes. I hope this helps!

Martin, I have seen some strange things price wise including up to a few hundred increase. I have also seen decreases but not to the same extent/amount as the increases. Seems that certain popular modes will hold a premium no matter where you go.

A must have for home protection

Very reliable system for an automatic. Ran a wide range of ammo through it, from low brass bird shot to full power slugs. It cycled everything reliably. The accessories market on these is picking up, and the price point makes it a definite Benelli contender. Its light weight makes it handle very easy. If you have to have one semi auto shotgun, this is the one to get!

Very well made firearm and easy to take down. The one time I took it to the range so far, it seems accurate with no malfunctions. The recoil is more than I expected, but maybe I expected too much. Besides, my experience with shotguns is limited. Overall, very satisfied with the 1301.

4.5/5 stars. I received my weapon in 7 days from time of order. When I picked up my Beretta 1301 Tactical from the FFL, the front sight blade was crooked. I had to loosen the nut, adjust it, loc-tite it, and retighten it. I cleaned and lubed it and shot it the next day. I shot a combination of Fiocchi 00 buckshot (12HV00BK), Hornady TAP Light Magnum 00 buckshot, and Hornady TAP Light Magnum 1 oz slug. The shotgun functioned flawlessly - recoil was only noticeable shooting the slugs. Besides the front sight issue, the fit and finish of the 1301 is amazing. The ergonomics are great, as is the trigger. I think the 1301 is the shotgun to get, if you’re looking for a reliable semi-automatic for home defense/duty use.

I just received my 1301 and I immediately loved this gun out of the box. Fortunately, I was at my local range and did not have long to test this marvel out. I shot 50 rounds of federal le 00 buck rounds through with zero malfunctions. I was surprised with how little this gun recoiled. My shoulder had a few red welts and no further discomforts to mention. The grip is very aggressive. This is also a very light shotgun. Presently I will only add a magazine extension as I see no further need for anything also to be hung on this gun. I'm very happy with this purchase
