Wow! I have several quality rifles including a 700 classic chambered in 300 Weatherby (yes it’s a real thing that was done one time with the classic) and a Belgium made BAR chambered in 300 Win mag, among others. I love them all. I’m getting a little older and have had many orthopedic surgeries including both shoulders and two neck fusions which of course caused uncle Arther to pay an early visit and never leave. I finally decided to look for a quality rifle chambered in a caliber that is a little more forgiving on my broken down, worn out body. This Weatherby is not what I was looking for because I had told myself I would keep the price point more reasonable even though it is going to be my go to rifle moving forward. If I somehow win the lottery and can finally afford to get out west for an elk or brown bear hunt before my body wears completely out (being a 35 year career paramedic will break you down). I would take one of my 300s for that. Anyway, I was planning on buying a quality but less expensive rifle until I ran across this one in the qualified buyers section here at Buds and at a great deal. I immediately bought it because it was offered in the caliber I was looking for, it’s a beautiful gun, the features are tremendous and it’s a Weatherby. It absolutely lives up to the Weatherby name. You can read all the options and features it has. I’ll attest to the functionality and aesthetics of those features. Everyone knows about Weatherby’s quality and beautiful stocks. I will single out the trigger, the bolt and the barrel to say, WOW! You can tune this thing to your liking. I bore sighted it. First shot was 1” high and 6” left. Walked it over with a second shot then 3rd, 4th and 5th shots were all touching each other and could easily cover all three with a quarter. My daughter’s 17 y/o boyfriend was drooling as he watched me shoot. I handed him the gun and he proceeded to place his first shot in the same group resulting in now a four shot group by two different shooters all touching and covered with a quarter. While I got this rifle at a great price when it was on sale, I would not hesitate to pay a $1,000 for one. For the record, it does not have a $2,000 scope mounted on it, it’s a has a Vortex Vanquish. We used a good rest but no vice. If you need/want a quality rifle and can afford this one, it’s a no brainer.

This is a great-looking rifle with pepper laminate stock. Besides that, the quality and workmanship is extraordinary. Plus, it’s light, just 7-1/4 lbs, and well balanced. It feels good to hold that rifle.
