• Q: i know the winchester lever rimfire rifles have steel receivers… not sure about the henry lever rimfires?

  Hi Mark and welcome. Unfortunately, this Henry has a "Pot Metal" Receiver. Both the receiver and receiver cover are an alloy-and non-magnetic. Cheers and stay safe!

• Q: Sad that I have to ask this question, from what I can tell this is an Illinois compliant rifle. Am I correct?

  Its a convoluted mess In here is what I found " Illinois, pump-action .22LR rifles with tubular magazines are permitted, as well as single-shot rifles. However, high-capacity magazines or tubular magazine extensions for shotguns are prohibited12. On January 10, 2023, Illinois passed legislation to strongly restrict the commerce and possession of large capacity magazines3."
  and Permitted:
  ✔ A .22 caliber tube ammunition feeding device.
  ✔ A tubular magazine that is contained in a lever-action firearm.

  Hi Brian, no sir, All Henry H001 series rifles now come with metal barrel bands and metal front sights.
  Henry used to put plastic barrel bands on their rifles, and the basic H001 models used to have plastic front sights. In response to customer feedback, Henry switched to metal barrel bands and front sights.

  Hi John, it is not drilled & tapped, but it does have a 3/8" dovetail grooved receiver for adding optics.
