as it is sold it is a pistol it does not have a stock it has a pistol brace and does not need a tax stamp. If you changed the brace to a rifle it would then become a SBR and need a tax stamp

DPMS Kitty Kat is a very nice retro set-up pistol platform. Because of the very short gas tube and barrel it is extremely over-gassed and excessively loud! If you ever had to fire it indoors without hearing protection, you and everyone in the house would have ears ringing for 2 days. This pistol would benefit from a heavier buffer and extra power recoil spring. I would imagine that the extractor and extractor spring need replacing more often due to the over-gas. Buds had a great price that made it affordable and had it in stock when others did not. Get one while you can!
