Sig Sauer 229R-9-BSS-CA P229 Nitron CA Compliant 10+1 9mm 3.9" - Blue/Black, 3.9" Barrel, 10+1 Rounds, Polymer Grips, Night Sights

I recently purchased the Sig P229 Nitron Compact from Buds. As a California resident, I'm so glad that Sig continues to make this handgun for the California market (it's still on the California Handgun Roster, which, as most people know, greatly limits the number of handguns available to residents of the state) and that Buds continues to sell the P229 CA Compliant model. My experience with Buds was excellent. The firearm shipped immediately and arrived at my local FFL in just a few days. Following the mandatory (California) ten day waiting period, I picked up my new firearm and I couldn't be happier. The P229 is a compact 9mm (a smaller version of the Sig P226). It's an all metal handgun with an alloy frame and an excellent DA/SA trigger. While I have other handguns, I think the P229 is now my favorite. Thank you Buds!

I haven't actually DROS'd the pistol yet. But, I have held it and cycled it at my FFL where it was delivered. It is a very good fit for me ergonomically and matches my Beretta 92FS in comfort. As for the rail, when I first purchased the pistol, I didn't think I'd use it. But, having taken some tactical shooting classes and asking the instructor about different lights, stances/holds,i.e. FBI stance/hold, I decided that the rail actually made more sense than filling two hands, one with a pistol and one with a flashlight. So, I bought a Streamlight 69110 TLR-1 Weapon Mount Tactical Flashlight Light 300 Lumens. This will work with my Sig and not get too hot and use up a bunch of battery life quickly like an 800 lumen would. The fit and finish on the pistol are very good. Although, I haven't fired it yet, I'm sure it will be a pleaser. So, to finish, I love my new Sig P229 single stack pistol.
