• Q: When it comes to 45 Long Colt, is that ammunition grain count the same in all brands? Also, do they make 410 ammunition pacifically for this revolver or will 410 shotgun ammunition (bird shot, buck or slug) work in it?

  45lc comes in multiple different grains and this will shoot any factory load just fine. As for 410 it will shoot slugs, buckshot, and bird shot. Not sure if they make 410 specifically for this, although I'm sure they do, you can use any 2.5 inch 410 gauge shell you can get ahold of. Hope this helps.

  Disclaimer: this answer is only my personal opinion and not factual. That being said, I would not recommend this for carry for several reasons. First of all, this is a quite large/bulky and heavy gun which would make carrying and concealing it difficult and uncomfortable. Second, I personally do not believe that most .410 "self defense" load are effective or reliable in comparison to traditional handgun ammo; though 45 Colt is also an option I see no reason to carry this large of a firearm for that cartridge when 44 Magnum is somewhat comparable and offered in much smaller guns. Finally, in comparison to other concealed carry options this gun has a relatively small capacity, high recoil, bulky frame, and heavy weight, I think there are much better options available.

• Q: Does the LG-375 crimson trace laser grips fit on this model??

  James, Yes it will fit. If long enough grip screw does not come with laser grip, just replace stock Public Defender grip screw with a longer 4 mm x 7 thread x 40 mm in length in LG-375.

  No Allan, (even if the Public Defender had/used Moon Clips: and it does not), the rim on the 45 Colt cartridge is not as thick as the moon clip and rim on 45 ACP, so the two are not compatible. To do what you describe would require you to have a 2nd cylinder set up strictly for 45 ACP.
