Bersa Thunder 22 Series 10+1 .22 LR 3.5"

I ordered a new gun , they sent me a use one. The safety key doesn’t work. I’m very disappointed.

I picked this pistol because of the classic design and my research showed that Bersa guns work well.

Great little gun, shoots very accurate and flawless mechanics, and you can’t beat the price.

Fired 250 rds of Federal Champion .22LR with 95% malfunction rate with an initial cleaning/oiling upon receipt and at 50 rds. Malfunctions include failure to extract, stovepipes, and failure to load cartridge. Usually fails to lock back on final rd in mag. When actually cycling max number of rds in a row has been 3 before another malfunction. Cleaned/oiled again today and plan to try some different ammo next time. If problem persists will have my gunsmith attack it. Trigger breaks nicely and accuracy is spot on! Surprised at the malfunctions as I also have a Bersa Thunder 380 which is an absolute joy to shoot!

I was looking for a .22 handgun because I didn't own one for that caliber. After looking at all the possibilities, I finally settled on this one by Bersa believing that it would be the same dimensions of the famous 380. Most of the complaints that I read were of cycling problems with low power ammo. The gun functioned just fine, and after the first range visit, I cleaned it good and lubed it. After working the stiffness out of it, it is a dandy little pistol and I recommend it.
Buds delivered the gun on time and the transaction with my FFL was seamless as usual. Speaking of the FFL, I was a bit shocked that he made a face and was critical of Buds.....but that was NOT my experience. Buds and Bersa [sounds like a beer commercial] did right by me and I will buy from them again.

I liked my Thunder 380 so well that I bought the Thunder 22. I ordered it on a Monday, and had it by Friday. Thanks to Buds for the 5 star service. The Thunder 22 has major drawbacks. After breaking in the gun with 300+ rounds, I tracked its performance by ammo brand/velocity. I expected the break-in to resolve a 20%+ FTE/FTL (failure to eject, failure to load) that I was having using CCI Mini-Mag, CCI Blazer, Federal Champion, American Eagle ammo, all which are high velocity 1235+ FPS. After the break-in I still have 10%+ FTE/FTL, so I moved up to hyper velocity CCI Stinger (1640 FPS) which made and the gun work well. This ammo costs nearly 4x as much as the high velocity ammo, so if you are buying this to save money on ammo, be aware you won't save much. I noticed that the spring on my 380 is identical to the spring on my 22 which may be part of the problem. Another major drawback of this gun is that you cannot buy additional magazines. If you break or loose the magazine, you will have an inoperable gun. I called the Bersa importer and they are aware of the backorder problem, but they have no idea when magazines will be available. If any manufacturer cannot supply magazines, then they should include 2 with every sale (this gun comes with only 1 magazine). Poor engineering, plus poor customer service, and inability to buy another magazine earns 1 star.

As always Buds was great! Bersa Is one great firearm just make sure your ammo is at least 1255fpm for proper cycling.

Great little gun. Ammo picky as stated by past reviews but the gun runs fine with CCI. Best price I could find for this gun.

I have three Bersa Thender's , this .22, .380, and .45. This .22 has always performed exectly, if using good quality ammo. I had some cycling problems with Walmart Federal, but not with CCI nor Aquila. Really like the feel, especially since I have extra large hands. For plinking, I recommend it.

Lovely pistol. Shoots reliably with decent quality 22lr bulk ammo. Get cheap stuff and it wont cycle properly. Great old style feel to this pistol. Solid feel that polymer pistols don't have. Needs a little break in time to shoot 100%. Plenty accurate enough to plink cans at 15 yards. Slide is easy to rack. Sights at adjustable and easy to see. Disassembles easy for cleaning. Good quality pistol for the money. Only down side I don't like is the mag safety. Bersa has a winner with the Thunder series of pistols. Also have the 380 CC model and love it.
