5 stars. I swapped out my charging handle and buffer system and this is easily one of my favorite rifles to shoot. For those trying to decide on a carbine vs. midlength gas system for your 16 inch, please do yourself a favor and go with the midlength, the recoil is not snappy like the smaller carbines and return-to-target is very easy with this rifle. The rifle cycles well with higher end and cheap ammo right out of the box, the A2 sights were easy to adjust. For those wanting to keep your A2 look and handguards this rifle readily accepts modifications at barrel end for lights, lasers, etc. For example I have a bayonet lug picatinny mount, but there are many options available from brands like crosstech, KZ, and others.

Short strokes right from the start. Tried lightweight buffers, no change. Tried this upper on another lower and the upper still short strokes. Rebuilt the upper with another barrel and it now works properly. Pulled off the front sight tower and didn’t see any obstructions that would cause undergassing. Basically became a parts gun.

Rock River IMHO is the Best, this is my second and I have had NO issue with either one. Buds, I ordered on a Saturday and received on Tuesday 100% Hassle Free. Buds and Rock River get a BIG Thumbs UP from me.
