All USP's use a fiber-reinforced polymer frame stiffened by stainless steel inserts at areas subject to stress and friction. HK pioneered this use of polymer materials in the production of handguns more than 30 years ago with the development of the VP70Z and P9S pistols.The USP control lever, a combination safety and decocking lever, is frame mounted and quickly accessible, unlike the slide-mounted safeties common on many semi-automatic pistols. Using a modified Browning-type action with a special patented recoil reduction system, the USP recoil reduction system reduces recoil effects on pistol components and also lowers the recoil forces felt by the shooter. This same recoil reduction system has been tested and proven in the HK Mark 23 pistol developed for the U.S. Special Operations Command. The USP recoil reduction system is insensitive to ammunition types and requires no special adjustment or maintenance. It functions effectively in all USP models. Variant 1 is a double action/single action with "SAFE" position. Control lever (manual safety/decoking lever) on left side of frame.

This pistol is everything I thought it was going to be. Built like a tank, but still light weight, and it feels amazing in my giant hand, and it's an absolute laser once you feel out how it shoots. This really feels like a scaled down MK23, to be honest. I was worried about how I would transition over to the Euro-style mag release, but now that I've been using it, I actually prefer it. And I've never felt a slide that is so easy to manipulate. It almost feels like a toy, as far as the difficulty level in racking it. This pistol design is older, but it feels very modern while still maintaining that awesome 90s aesthetic. I have a bad habit of selling guns to fund other ones. Very rarely do I actually keep many of them. This is one of those times I will absolutely be keeping it. I love it!

Yet another great shooter from HK. The USP is a large frame, but if it is comfortable for your hands it is a great choice. Awesome accuracy and reliability! I have the USP Expert in .45 and now this beauty. Fun to shoot and a great addition to any gun collection.

This gun is a dream to shoot, the magazines slam home with ease with the jet funnel, the muzzle stays nice and flat and the match trigger in single action mode is so smooth it sneaks up on you, yet it still has a predictable break, a tactile reset and the finish is absolutely beautiful. The only complaint if I had to nitpick is that the HK45 series has a more comfortable grip than the USP line. I honestly don't understand why these aren't more popular in US shooting competitions apart from the initial outlay. This gun is absolutely amazing looking, the end of the barrel is polished and the barrel hood is polished as well. I found it to be extremely reliable and accurate. I can't wait to go shoot it again, it's worth every penny and the magazine it ships with is the new style polymer over metal black mags. Phenomenal, if you're thinking of getting one, just add to cart, you'll be blown away.

The Expert is exactly for those that want a little more beyond the standard USP. The long slide and barrel increase accuracy. Like the Tactical, the Expert uses an elastomer o-ring to tighten up the fit between the barrel and slide. The barrel hood is polished and evenly canted which smooths the locking action. Sights are LPAs, Italian made, great for daytime target shooting but useless in low light, Meprolight makes a tritium option. The trigger is match grade delivering sub 4.0lbf in single action, great trigger and plays into the Experts incredible accuracy. Lastly, the Jet Funnel is essential for balancing the Experts weight and allowing for quicker reloads. The Expert delivers, it’s a competition grade beast.

Quality of this gun is awesome, although I did get the one with a few scratches on the frame. Doesn't bother me but it might to some people that expect a new gun. The trigger and quality of this gun is what sold me. Side note - The transaction took longer than stated, most likely because I ordered during Christmas time. However, I will be purchasing my future firearms through BUDS, they made it so convenient.

This is a smooth shooting handgun. Probably the most accurate 9mm I have fired, mostly due to the longer barrel length and light trigger. The jet funnel is a nice addition as well. Highly recommended.
