When Buds pulled this 22 rimfire pistol in stock during the covid shortage, I picked up immediately. Buds did a great job shipping it quickly to my FFL. Thank you. The Walther Arms Colt Tribute 1911 in .22 is an exceptional pistol. Breaking the pistol down, I was amazed at how the procedure is almost exactly like a 1911 45 ACP. the barrel bushing, spring plug,, spring and take-down pin all resemble a standard 1911! Kudos to Walther/Umarex & Colt for such a great design. The barrel is stationary and it is a blow-back design instead of a locking breech. The slide is super light and super easy to rack. disappointed that the sights are plastic but they are dovetail and believe they can be swapped out. grip safety is a standard design. the slide lock is right-hand-only, which is fine, but it got stuck often. I disassembled and oiled the pistol to get ready for range time.
Even with COVID, I wanted to give it a good test fire and took it to the range with an entire brick of .22 rimfire. I shot lead high standard velocity federal, and federal high-velocity copper plated. Both functioned perfectly with enough power to eject the shell and load another from the 12 round magazine. Also, as many of you know, rimfire ammo is dirty and it's not a question of if a pistol will malfunction without a cleaning but when. The pistol was able to handle the entire 500 rounds without jamming or needing a cleaning which is great. It comes with a mag load which I never use, but with this pistol, I'd recommend it. I literally cut my thumb on the metal loading tab that allows you to pull down on the mag feeder to load another round.
As for accuracy, the pistol, with it's 5" barrel, and almost zero recoil is extremely accurate. The standard single action trigger on this pistol delivers and is exactly what you expect from something bearing the Colt name. in fact, I kept 300 rounds within a 3" group at 10 yards, and the remaining 200 rounds, I kept on the man-sized target at the full 50' of the indoor range. This pistol delivers on every level, for the price, it is one of the most accurate, reliable rimfire pistols I've shot. Being an almost exact copy of a 1911 makes it super comfortable to shoot. In fact, I enjoyed it so much, if Buds gets it in stock again, I"ll be picking up another one.
This gets my full endorsement as one of the best stock 22 rimfire pistols available.

Great little gun! Have shot around 200 rounds through this gun with no failures. Sights were right on straight out of the box. I’m glad I purchased this sweet little gun.

Bought this for my wife. We had it to the range for the first time, this week end, and see loved it; smooth action, accurate and very low recoil, she couldn't be happier. 💝

I was looking for the SDS imports 1911A1 .45 caliber but everywhere I looked it was out of stock but lucky for me I saw this Walther Arms Colt 1911A1Government Tribute .22LR on Buds Gun Shop.com and almost immediately made my purchase. When it arrived a small crowd from my FF licensed dealers shop stood around as I and the crowd watched as I inspected the weapon. I have not fired it yet but hope to go to the range soon. I know it will work fine as I trust Walther Arms

Nice feel and cycles without issue. Fired 10 rounds after picking up from FFL. Sights worked, fun little piece. Wanted something with a small caliber that kids could shoot, and also wanted a pistol. A little big for CC, but nice 1911! Great for the price.

Love this firearm! It feels and handles like a full size 1911 45ACP. Obviously the 45acp 1911 will have more of a kick and slightly weight more but it's great for target practice and it's cheap to shoot. I've had a shell get stuck and jam the gun twice now but it's not that big if a deal and you just move on and can continue to fire after its resolved quickly. It's a great starter weapon and I love it for when I'm in the woods. It's like most 22LR's incredibly accurate, I would almost say you could hunt with this thing.
